From that phony smile, I'd say she was off at birth. I actually knew a little girl when I was that age, Shelly? something, she set the neighbors house on fire, and smiled as it burned. Same exact smile, like out of a horror movie.
They asked why she did it, she shrugged, I was bored...

Never saw her again and the family moved away by the end of summer. Totally forgot about that till now.

Had a boy about the same age, set my next door neighbors dog on fire, but that kid was whacked the day I met him, finally wound up in an institution for the criminally insane. His name I'll never forget, Mark Sherman, probably born in 1959. I'm doing a search to see whatever happened.
