You should care. Because it builds hatred and resentment against us.

"Conservative organizations and writers and some defectors from Soviet intelligence have claimed that the non-aligned peace movement was controlled by the Soviet Union.
In 1951 the House Committee on Un-American Activities published The Communist "Peace" Offensive, which detailed the activities of the WPC and of numerous affiliated organisations. It listed dozens of American organisations and hundreds of Americans who had been involved in peace meetings, conferences and petitions. It noted, "that some of the persons who are so described in either the text or the appendix withdrew their support and/or affiliation with these organizations when the Communist character of these organizations was discovered. There may also be persons whose names were used as sponsors or affiliates of these organizations without permission or knowledge of the individuals involved."[17]
In 1982 the Heritage Foundation published Moscow and the Peace Offensive, which said that non-aligned peace organizations advocated similar policies on defence and disarmament to the Soviet Union. It argued that "pacifists and concerned Christians had been drawn into the Communist campaign largely unaware if its real sponsorship."[18]
Russian GRU defector Stanislav Lunev said in his autobiography that "the GRU and the KGB helped to fund just about every antiwar movement and organization in America and abroad," and that during the Vietnam War the USSR gave $1 billion to American anti-war movements, more than it gave to the VietCong.[19] Lunev described this as a "hugely successful campaign and well worth the cost".[19] According to Time magazine, a US State Department official estimated that the KGB may have spent $600 million on the peace offensive up to 1983, channeling funds through national Communist parties or the World Peace Council "to a host of new antiwar organizations that would, in many cases, reject the financial help if they knew the source."[13] Richard Felix Staar in his book Foreign Policies of the Soviet Union says that non-communist peace movements without overt ties to the USSR were "virtually controlled" by it. [20] Neither Lunev, Time or Staar name any non-aligned peace group that has been funded or otherwise influenced by the Soviet Union. Lord Chalfont claimed that the Soviet Union was giving the European peace movement £100 million a year. Bruce Kent, one-time general secretary of the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND), said. "If they were, it was certainly not getting to our grotty little office in Finsbury Park."[21] The Federation of Conservative Students (FCS) alleged Soviet funding of CND. They were sued for libel by Dan Smith, a CND worker, backed down, issued an apology and paid costs.[22]
In 1985 Time magazine noted "the suspicions of some Western scientists that the nuclear winter scenario was promoted by Moscow to give antinuclear groups in the U.S. and Europe some fresh ammunition against America's arms buildup."[23] Sergei Tretyakov claimed that the data behind the nuclear winter scenario was faked by the KGB and spread in the west as part of a campaign against Pershing missiles.[24] He said that a key paper in the development of the nuclear winter scenario, "Twilight at Noon" by Paul Crutzen and John Birks (1982),[25] was published as a result of this KGB influence. However, Starley L. Thompson of the National Center for Atmospheric Research, Boulder, Colorado, says that the nuclear winter model was developed in the United States in the early 1970s.[26]"

That is what I came up with. Notice how it is 'claims'. You can't take this as history. On the same google search there are links to " The CIA created the Hippie movement."

That is good. You're aware of your countries' actions. I also feel bad that politicians who represent ( or are supposed to anyway) me in act policies which do this to other countries. We should stop this.

I do. Because it would be help in preventing any future attacks against us.

It is the same as knowing why/how fascism grew in Germany during the 1920/30s. We learn why so we don't repeat it.

No it wouldn't.  They are animals, and animals attack.  They can hate us all they want.  I don't care.

Are we animals when we attack another country ?

WHY DO THEY HATE US? - Watch this clip. Seriously watch it and tell me what you honestly think. This clip could not sum up what we're talking about any better.

I don't think so. It is a direct comparison to what we're talking about.

First, it's so adorable that the video made an impression on you.  I know you think that guy is smart, but he isn't.  Unlike you, I've had many-a-debate with these academic morons who just lock up when you get into any real discussion with them, especially in front of others.

Second, again, I really don't care what they think.  I really don't.  I ESPECIALLY don't care what a country thinks that treats their women like animals and doesn't contribute to the planet.  I know you want to sit down with the muslim terrorists at a Starbucks and discuss how bad our country is while sipping coffee, but I don't.  The only reason they have a shot at us is because of liberals, like yourself, who enable them to come here to use our resources and laws against us.  They can hate us all they want, as long as they do it in their country.

Well if you have so much experience debating this very topic, please do so now.

I don't want to sit down and debate anything muslim terrorists, I want to debate with you. I'm trying to understand why you ignore our participation in terrorism and have absolutely no interest in why people hate us so much they're willing to kill us.

You seem to have a attitude that is exactly what Noam Chomsky was talking about. " They're evil and we're good. That is all that matters. Lets not examine it any further"

Anyone who treats their women like animals are not very nice people.  You want to overlook that and give them some sort of equal standing with us.  Right off the bat, they are a lower life form.  They need to start behaving like humans.

I don't see it as good versus evil.  I just don't care about them.  You give them some sort of value.  I don't.  When they attack us, we turn them into fertilizer.  I don't give any value to them at all.

I don't want to overlook what happens in the middle east in regards to women's rights, gay rights etc. I don't think we have the 'moral high ground' here though when we openly support regimes who participate in this behavior. Take Saudi Arabia for example, they're one of the most extreme crazy Islamic countries in the world. They're also one of our biggest trading partners and allies in the region. So you can't really claim we should invade and bomb the crap out of country x because they're " backwards" but also actively support country b who is the same or worse. Just doesn't make sense.

Perhaps it is not the people who who commitment these terrorist acts against us that deserve your care or sympathy, but the innocent civilians who die by the millions due to our power politics in the region. They're after all, human beings who have little say in how their country operates.

You are living in a world where you expect no one to resist or care about American imperialism, but would start world war 3 if anyone dare strike back at you.

won't tell you again, stop mixing posts when quoting, it's lazy and you don't supply links in your quotes.
Do it again, and I'll start deleting your posts.

Now, is there a reason you didn't link to your quote of an opinion piece?
And with all the evidence you obviously ignored on the subject, is there a reason you don't want to believe that another Nation did it's best to create division in our culture?
Even Khrushchev stated he would destroy us from the inside, there was no need for a war.

The evidence is not very hard. I'm not saying there was no connection, but you're trying to link the gay rights/hippie  movement as some international communist conspiracy. Most of that was internal reasons and not funding from the USSR. I know of some groups that were 'connected' in some way to the soviets, but not a movement.

Quote only one poster at a time.

So it includes the name of the person that wrote the post, that way anyone reasing your response knows who you're quoting.

Also, you posted an opinion piece without a link, and I have to assume you got lazy and went to Wiki, one of the worst places to go for historical data, which only bolsters my case further.
