Wait, the polio vaccine and the moon landing were achieved through heavy government funding, and the video celebrates social welfare, so Romney wouldn't like this ad at all.

"it would be nice to hear a heartfelt thank you from the rest of the world for all we've done"

 Maybe humility will improve international opinion of the United States.  We've done a lot for the world in the past, but killing >100,000 men, women and children isn't one of them.

This irrational, neanderthal "my country, right or wrong!" attitude is the antithesis of American idealism.  Accusing dissenters, as many mainstream republicans have done, of "treason" for speaking out against war policy doesn't fit well in the land of the free, does it?

Yet the obvious once again escapes you.
It's not so much a pro Mitten ad, but rather an anti Hussein ad.

The left does believe in American Exceptionalism. According to them, America is:

* the only country that doesn't have the right to defend its borders.
* the only country that doesn't have the right to enforce its immigration laws.
* the only country that should give up ground when dealing with dangerous psychotic regimes.

So what?  Are you under the impression that a candidate can or should immediately discount double standards during an attack ad?  That Romney could post an ad openly endorsing social welfare and government funded science programs, and then renege and say "hey, I don't actually support any of this shit...I just made the ad to attack Obama with useless rhetoric!"

The paragraph under the youtube video:

This video celebrates the greatness of America and the primary reasons why America has been, and continues to be, an exceptional nation. Its 11-year-old narrator can be seen in the 7th frame reading the inscription on the Lincoln Memorial at Washington D.C. His father, a CPA and business consultant, plays all of the background music and vocals on a digital keyboard. It is dedicated to members of the military and their families for all they have done in service of our nation and for freedom-loving people around the world.

Romney has nothing to do with the video, dumb ass!

And have you forgotten how Hussein ran on the premise he would not run attack ads?
And here we are in 2012 and that's all the Marxist has, is attack ads, but then, it's not like he actually has anything positive to run on.

I am well aware of that.  I am also well aware that "Tab5" mentioned it could be a Romney ad.  You know, even though the video endorses government funded science projects and social welfare?

Nope.  But actively supporting a government program that Obama also supports doesn't help Romney, nor hurt Obama, and thus is useless.

Mind you, the video also openly supports welfare.

Question: do you support the Patriot Act?

So you think Conservatives want to throw the disabled on the street?

First off, lets be clear, Bush opened Pandora's box when he instituted PA, and no, it has no place in our lives.

Given that even the most rudimentary welfare and regulatory acts were passed in their day through fierce conservative opposition, you're just shooting yourself in the foot here.

We are the conservatives.  We hate all regulation and welfare!

The conservatives of old were clearly wrong, but we're right! [insert milder stance of above]

OK, the conservatives above were idiots, but we're clearly right! [insert milder stance of above]

OK, the conservatives above were assholes, but the 21st century is a different place.  Now we're going to be right! [insert milder stance of above]

For example, homosexuality.  At first, conservatives wanted to through all gays in jail; after the liberals won a few cases, they changed their stance to wanting to through all gays who have sex in jail; after the liberals won a few cases, they changed their stance to wanting to through all gays who try to marry in jail.

Eventually, conservatives give up on issues they lose (slavery, contraceptive use, monarchy), after adopting milder and milder positions, and then deny that they ever supported them.

And how many threads have you created in opposition to it?  After all, you hate regulating when you wear your seatbelt, buy your health care and smoke with a passion, yet merely pay lip service in opposition to allowing the government to detain you indefinitely without trial.

Strawmen...

So I need to start a ton of threads about Conservatives hatred of an overreaching Govt to prove our disdain for this mess?
Stating the obvious seems a bit redundant, doesn't it?

Strawmen...

How is it a strawman?  It's a fact that the most basic, self evident regulatory and welfare acts, that even fanatical reactionaries like yourself support, were once fiercely contested by your conservative ancestors.

Maybe so, but you have no problem with vilifying Obama for making you wear a seatbelt.  I wasn't around, but I'm fairly certain you never called Bush a "socialist monkey" for spying on American citizens and detaining "suspected terrorists" indefinitely without trial or bail.

It's similar to Bill O'Reilly, who criticizes Common for writing a song supporting a convicted criminal, yet ignores the numerous white artists who have done the same, multiple times.

Not at all.  Nor do I like the conservative double standard of claiming "fiscal responsibility", and then spending 900 billion dollars on a war overseas.
