Cruz Campaign Vetting Carly for VP

Ted Cruz's presidential campaign is vetting Carly Fiorina as a potential running mate, THE WEEKLY STANDARD has learned.

According to a spokeswoman for Fiorina, the former Hewlett-Packard CEO and one-time presidential candidate is being vetted by Cruz's campaign.

"Normal stuff," said Sarah Isgur Flores, who served as deputy campaign manager during Fiorina's bid, when asked about the process. She added that Fiorina has met with members of the Cruz campaign and has given them financial disclosures and other documentation. Flores added that "no offers" have been made.

Interesting.....
She would not be my first choice, but I can see where Cruz would appreciate what she brings to the table, they are much alike in many ways, particularly focus, she has the bite of a Pit bull when it comes to finishing a project and never giving up, and that would be a huge benefit to Cruz.

I kind of like it. It would defuse the "war against women" victim hood" pitch the dems would cry. Also, she can take on Hillary directly and let Cruz stay above the fray on issues.

Likely his camp sees her as the attack dog that Hillary will have a hard time using the gender card against.  She's no conservative but I have to admit I did like her aggressive, no nonsense style.

Yep, that's her trademark in business. I've no doubt Cruz sees it as an asset.

After Dole, McCain and Romney we sure need some of her style. Democrats will not know how to react to  candidates not treating them with kid gloves.

Excellent point. She's worked with these people and thoroughly understands them and how to manipulate them.

I can imagine these Trump supporters suddenly turning around, and running to a Cruz/Fiorina ticket.  If they like a pit bull, this is a smart one who still has teeth.  Good move on Cruz's part, float that possibility out there now, the results should be positive.

i think it causes too many problems. You have that whole 500k thing his superpac donated to hers and then of course the whole national enquirer thing.

If Fiorina were bringing something extremely special to the mix which would offset all these things being brought up again, just when the public was forgetting them, then maybe. It doesnt seem that way though. Plenty of other qualified candidates.

I told my Mom that a Cruz-Rubio ticket would be great. And she said she would prefer a Cruz-Fiorina ticket. If the reports are true, Mom's gonna be super happy! :)

Fiorina is one smart lady who would complement Cruz nicely.

Oh, no doubt. :)

Mom has always been smarter than me. But I'd support Cruz-Fiorina, Cruz-Rubio, Cruz-Kasich, Cruz-Christie, Cruz-Walker - basically, Cruz-Anybody. Cruz may not be the perfect presidential candidate, but he's close enough in my book.

I don't read the national enquirer, really don't care about pacs or super pacs.  How long did the enquirer article stay a news story?   Other qualified candidates... not with name recognition.  Unlike Palin, Carly has name recognition in California.  Could help Cruz a lot!

I'd take it to the bank that Walker will be the pick, but I'd be good with Fiorina.
