What Kind of Fence Can Close the Border?

Like a lock, it will only keep a honest person honest.     They have been tunneling under ground for years.  A fence will only slow them down, not stop them.

I was thinking mine fields for about a mile north, and a 10,000 volt fence.

3-walled fence. 2 15 footers with a 25 footer in the middle.

ANY fence will keep out 99%. Then make it impossible to work here illegally , and stop providing ANY benefits. Of course none of this will happen with our sympathetic politicians.

The more we allowvin this country, the less will we'll have to fight them.

I have a suggestion. Why don't we ask Washington to put up a smoke screen along those borders. Nothing will get through.

The discussion of the fence is secondary. So is discussion about cheap labor and vote pandering. The real stories have been available even before the Kenyan took office.

No fence will ever work, because the people responsible for building it and ensuring its efficiency - the Political Class of this country - have no interest in either building it or see to it that it works! 

In fact, they have a vested interest in making sure it doesn't get built and doesn't work!

We would not need to worry about sealing the borders if we enforced current laws and made coming here untenable and unprofitable. If an illegal is found take them back to the border and give them back to the Mexican government. They will stop all the immigration from Central America as they do not want the headache.

No need to spend money taking them back to the border.... if they cannot work or get government handouts.... they will self deport or starve!

You are so correct. In 2008 I worked a good bit in the Hilton Head area. There were many Hispanics working there in construction, landscaping, etc:. When the recession hit the jobs dried up and they went back.

No wall or fence can keep anything or anyone out for long....I personally think it is symbolic.

Here's something to think about.

The greatest "fence" ever built...the great wall of China is 3,500 miles long is about 40 feet across and has watchtowers ever mile or so.

It failed to keep the invading hordes of MAnchu's out of China....because in the end the Chinese general in charge of one section of the wall BETRAYED THE EMPEROR and allowed the Manchu army through....they ruled china for more than two hundred years.

Supposedly the enemy commander who led his forces thru made the comment.

Walls are only as good as the men who man them....profound and disturbingly apropo for todays situation on the southern border.

The Obamao admin has betrayed the American people by allowing and continuing to allow hordes of illegals....many as hostile as the Barbarian hordes who rampaged across China's great wall.

There are 1700 miles of border.  I would think putting one border guard every mile, along with electronic monitoring and drones would be just as good as a fence.  Once crossers are spotted, they would need back-ups available to move in on the apprehension, or better yet, not allowed to cross. 

I would tell Mexico, that we were going to push the border line back 10 miles into Mexico, and if they had a problem with that, then they could kiss their US dollars good bye.

Too expensive, I'd get a civilian volunteer corps that would act as spotters and call in squads of border patrol agent to apprehend them once they cross, these observers would be armed and deputized by local sheriffs as well in the event of "tresspassing" on private property for which they could detain.
