It was just common sense to remain neutral on senate leader. His endorsement would have minimal, if any, impact on individual senators. He knew this and understood he will need assistance from whoever was elected.

I do wish he would pick fewer politicians and more business people. Just MHO.

Well, he saw them falling.

Politicians have always centered their campaigns around one or two promises, Dim Or Pub, they'd promise lower taxes, or immigration reform or what have you, only to claim Congress refused to work with them once in office.
Point is, Trump is he first in history of the US to actually stick by his promises, the people gave him the power to do as he needs, across the board.
Looking back at all the others with the exception of Reagan, it's obvious we were all scammed every time!
