In short, when the USSR collapsed, the US and Russia signed a treaty/pact, that as long as NATO didn't expand towards Russia, there will be no aggression.
The US broke that pact, and Obama created a coup to oust Ukraine's govt, and installed Zelenskyy, an actor with zero experience.

In 2019, Porochenko was defeated in the Presidential election by President Zelenskyy. Zelenskyy was elected in a free and fair election and has been supported in the war effort by Porochenko. Zelenskyy was installed by the voters of the Ukraine. President Trump did not install President Zelenskyy. (President Obama wasn't in office in 2019.)

I did a search at both the Public Library and the University Library. Since these events are recent, I focused on journal searches. I have not been able to find any indication that President Zelenskyy was installed by a US led coup. I did find an article that said President Trump criticized President Obama for not providing the Ukraine with sufficient military aid, but it was not a credible claim.
Coups generally involve violence, but President Zelenskyy's election was peaceful and without controversy. He defeated President Porochenko and Porochenko conceeded defeat amicably. Nobody in the Ukraine disputed the results. President Trump called President Zelenskyy to congratulate him on his win. Ref: TASS cited below.

I wasn't shocked at her loss.Not being an American, I didn't care who won. What shocked me was to total lack of objectivity and professionalism on the US network news.
I have learner to be skeptical of what I see after 25 years of taking whitness statements. I believe less of what I read. But when it comes to anything on the internet, I believe nothing, except that clicking on any link is potentially an expensive disaster. The point is, the internet is a terrible place to find information.
So this is the basis for our differences. We trust very different sources of information. I don't expect to change anybody's mind. I like the opportunity to put forward my views. I appreciate the opportunity to read your views.

I'm not sure what that has to do with President Putin's decision to initiate an unprovoked invasion of a small neighbour. Whether there is corruption in the Ukraine or not is none of Russia's business and Russia is in no position to point fingers at anybody for corruption.
