The CBP says around 180,000 immigrants are being caught per month. In April agents arrested 178,854 illegal immigrants, the highest monthly figure for 21 years. That figure was then surpassed in May as agents apprehended 180,034 illegals.

This is why we have CBP and a border wall/fence - to catch people who are crossing illegally.  You're referencing an article that shows that CBP is doing their job.  We should all be happy this is the case.

That's the whole point of the thread, nothing is being done. Less than 40% of those who show up for their hearing and can not get amnesty are deported, and that does not include the thousands who do not even show up. We have some posters who can not see what the big picture is all about.

We are talking about two different things, again.  Your article references people who have already made it through the initial border screenings and are released into the US awaiting their court hearing.  On average, the US allows 25k asylees per year into the country after passing the initial screenings.  What your 40% appears to reference is what percent of those 25k are actually allowed to stay after their court hearing.

The initial border screening are a joke, read what the agents have to say on the matter, they basically take down names and try to get a promise from them to get a court date, which most do not get. The other article I posted showed 80% are turned down for asylum, and are supposed to leave the country, but nothing is being done to get them out.

Based on what is the border screenings a joke?  My understanding is that it's a two step process to evaluate the credibility of the fear/situation of the asylum seeker.  Humanitarian groups criticize them as being too strict.

As I said in the post, look up what the border agents are saying. There is a crisis on the border, biden is doing nothing to correct this. The only people being turned down are those from Cuba who need asylum protection, but they do not fit the needs of the dnc.
