Let's just be honest. Cruz will get hammered in New York because it's full of fragile latte sipping metrosexuals wearing tight jeans, hipster glasses and scarves in July. I'm okay with Trump winning New York because it will make the sad wastes of DNA run for their safe spaces.

The most conservative person in New York is Trump.

So when Trump wins New York it will be spun as Trump stops the Cruz momentum. That's like saying the Yankees can now be considered World Series contenders because they defeated Tampa Bay in Tampa bay.

Yeah it's a big win for Trump but Cruz in New York is like Rommel riding into Jerusalem on a tank and saying "why are they throwing things at me?"

It's as surprising as Cruz winning Texas. Nobody saw that coming...

Because it's Trump's home people are going to look at Trump as a failure for not fully winning NY.

Starting to hear stuff on late night radio, it might not be such a huge win for Trump - but, they always follow up the "hints" of failures in pockets of NY with the statewide polls.  This is far from over, even NY is not a slam dunk.   Reminds me of living in the People's Republic of Madison, you'd think EVERYONE is a progressive liberal ... but's it's just the loud mouth liberals you're hearing.

I think people who don't live in NY, sometimes are unaware how much the "Bridge and Tunnel" crowd (someone who doesn't live in NYC) really dislike "The City" - especially Manhattan. It seems that Ny is always being run for the benefit of NYC even though the people who don't live in the city outnumber those who do. The Democrats, who have controlled the state for years have gerrymandered it to the point that leftist knuckleheads have influence all out of proportion to their actual numbers. I'm wondering if people in NY have forgotten how long Trump has been seen as tabloid fodder and a supporter of every Leftloon out there.

Exactly Md, it reminds me of medieval times, where those lucky enough to live within the walls of the castle were given a small voice, while those beyond the walls were left to fen for themselves, yet still pay pittance to the Kingdom and do as directed for the sheer privilege of living within sight of the walls.

the rest of the state tends to see that city

The problem isn;t New Yawk....it is NEW YAWK CITY, there is such a large population that when it votes it renders null and void the rest of the state which has some tried and true conservatives in the dairy farm and rural areas upstate. Its just like Virginia, under the control of the leftists in Northern Virginia, the Federal Govts bedroom community, while the rest of the State is ultra conservative.

Whether he finishes 2nd or 3rd really doesn't matter in the rest of the country. He does need a few delegates, but a GOP candidate is not going to win NY in the general.

I will not be shocked with Cruz coming out of NY with ~30 delegates.  I would be even less shocked if Kasich beat Trump.

Trump needs to hit this one cleanly out of the park, anything less points to weakness.  Probably why he's hanging around NY and ignoring the rest of the states.
