I don't buy it. If it was intentional then Fox screwed up the screw up.

How so?

As for Levin, he wasn't going off on Fox specifically in regards to the dinner, though he did speak about that some.  It was more about their shameless promotion and support across the board.

I mean the audio screw up was just that.  A screw up.

I highly doubt that Fox would intentionally try to sabotage a candidate like that.

I just didn't like how FOX handled it...the dual mic thing went on for a long, long time making Cruz look pathetic...like the crowd had given up on his speech and were milling around the place because they were tired of his speech. If it was intentional...I think it was done by the event coordinators. Fox could have cut in immediately and told people what was happening. It is also bothersome that Fox continued the narrative that people were like walking out on the speech. I don't think that was happening...
You make me wanna roll my windows down and Cruz!

You have to remember that this wasn't in a Fox studio. It was done on location. So it is doubtful the main mic on Cruz was from Fox. Fox only has their own mics on the journalists they sent there. Other than that they have little control. They can tap into the entire audio system there but if things go wrong they have little or no control over it.

Space at this level of new event is usually at a premium, and it is entirely likely that event planners did not anticipate the number of feet which COULD stomp on and loosen any connections between the microphone and the amplifying equipment.

It happened to me in my radio days, long ago. I learned after that to wrap electrical tape around EVERY connection...after the barn door and the horse and the botched broadcast.

There 's no excuse for this, Cruz was promised equal exposure, he was last in a line up that should have had Ksux speaking last.
Point is, they cut Cruz short and owe him that exposure, and so far they have not owned up and accepted responsibility.
FOX is already in the tank for Trump, so they should be bending over backwards to prove they can live up to their motto/claim of "Fair and Balanced", which is looking everyday to be more and more leftist like the rest of the networks.

What I'm saying though is FOX could and should have cut in immediately when the audio problems started and informed us of an issue instead of letting Cruz go on in his speech that just became background noise compared to the silverware scraping the plates. After Hannity finally comes on live after letting this go forever, he barely mentions a problem and goes right to Trump news. I personally thought it was sickening to watch...

Sauce

Was it done literally by fox news? no,  did they revel in it happening and use it as a tool to humiliate Cruz and prop up Trump?? ya bet.

Did Trump purposely delay his arrival to push Cruz's portion into the dinner hour?  uh huh.

Could there have been tacit coordination between the trump campaign and either/or/and hotel event staff and whatever unions that would of been involved in running audio at the event

...entirely within the realm of possibility

Dori

I don't think the sound-system in the hotel had anything to do with FOX.
The danger to America is not Barack Obama but the citizens capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency.

taxed

Cruz whips delegates and wins.  Donald messes with sounds systems during speeches.

Remember the good old days
when you would watch the news
and see someone talking to a table full of microphones?

When I was growing up, I'd see that on TV, and think
"Someday, I want to be important enough that
people will fill a table full of microphones
just to hear what I have to say!"

Journalists used to bring their own sound equipment all the time.
Looks like they should still be doing it.
Here are the 10 RINOs who voted to impeach Trump on Jan. 13, 2021 - NEVER forget!

Nobody was listening to Cruz anyway, judging by the table-clangor and sounds of people conversing during it.  And what was the point of wearing a tuxedo, then reciting the same ol' Wisconsin speech?  It all looked and sounded pretty awkward.

Why didn't they? When a studio goes live to an event that is expected to take a while the studio expects to not be on air for a while. Where was Hannity? Probably in the bathroom. I expect they didn't cut back to the studio because they were unprepared. It happens all the time.

OneAmerica kept rolling with it, since they're not commercial-driven.  I clicked-over to that when Trump left and Kelly went to some air-filler focus group.

Fox was stuck being obligated to sponsors.

The auditorium-mike was on.  Only the broadcast-feed glitched-out.  That's why the audience wasn't reacting, and no techies swarmed Cruz to fuss with the podium.  Cruz kept right on talking and talking and talking and talking and talking...  Sales of Sominex probably dropped big-time after that speech.
