Title: Wow, real classy FOX...
Post by: Fishman on April 14, 2016, 08:20:18 PM

So I'm watching this GOP Gala in NY whatever the heck that is and Trump's speech is first, then Kasich is 2nd...no issues at all. Then it's Cruz turn and after a few minutes the audio goes from hearing Cruz nice and clear to what sounded like they put another live mic in the kitchen or something. I kid you not you could hear dishes and silverware clanging together and people talking and all this was on a mic that was clearer and louder than the one Cruz was talking into up on stage. How embarrassing for Cruz...it looked so bad...like he was an "oh that other guy" kind of status. Well, who cares what he has to say...he doesn't like NY values. Felt so bad for him and then they just cut him off and Hannity comes on and says they were having audio problems and starts talking about Trump and goes to an interview with Corey Lewandowski. NY values I guess...rant over!  :cursing:

Yea, I caught that too.  I know nothing about sound systems, but it was like Cruz lost his mic at the podium and they had to pick it up from a different source that also picked up the noises in the ballroom.  It was a gala, so people were probably having dinner, is why you heard the dishes clanking and people talking.

I decided to see what Rush had to say today. So I flipped Rush on and he is talking about it right now. He thinks something is quite fishy about it all. He doesnt seem to think it was all just an accident. Rush believes that someone sabotaged Cruz's speech.

Yea, also listening to Rush. I agree it was no accident. Classic NY liberal values. Gotta screw the conservative...

I have always set up two microphones so if something does go wrong you have a back up.  But then at my age I do believe in Murphy's Law.

Its not like one mic had an issue and autio went to another mic on the podium; it went to mics at the tables. All you heard is people eating, clanging of dishes, and Cruz faint in the back ground. Fox never said "oh theres a technical problem we are trying to fix" or anything like that. Cruz's speech continued like that for 5-10 more mins before Fox cut right to Hannity talking with Eric Bolling about Corey Lewandowski.

And now all day Fox is pushing the narrative that people were so bored by Cruz's speech that they were getting up and walking around talking to people instead of listening to Cruz, when in fact that never actually what was going on in the room during Cruz's speech.

I didn't see it so I am only going by what you'all and Rush are saying...

So what did Hannity say about it?

Will be interesting dipping into his show open to see what  excuses he makes up.

,..and on that note, it was nice to see Redstate call him out on all the water he is carrying for Trump......

So what did Hannity say about it?...

Cruz's speech that started during Kelly's show, bled over into Hannity's show for about ten minutes and Hannity broke in saying they were having audio trouble.

He had on Eric Bowling and Kimberly Guilfoyle to talk about the speeches. They mostly talked about Trump's speech and his hiring of new campaign organizers.

Then I quit watching.  I think Bowling is in the tank for Trump as he's on several other FOX shows.

In the tank for Trump? Thats all? Its more so up Trumps ass than just being in the tank.

I can say with great confidence that every at Fox is in the tank for Trump except 4 people - Megyn Kelly, Greg Gutfeld, Dana Perino, and Tom Shillue.

So what happened to Cruz last night is now happening to Rush on his show.

About 45 mins ago, Rush was talking and his mic cut out and there was a bunch of noise being heard with Rush faintly in the background. A listener called in and told Rush about it. Rush said that he didnt hear anything like that happen. The listener insisted it happened. - it happened, I heard it - Rush then said that Snerdly told him that nothing like that happened. Other listeners called and backed up the previous listeners claim that it happened but right after back up the original callers claim, the callers either hang up immediately or their call gets cut off. Snerdly continues to say nothing happened. Rush then states that he is getting emails from people within the radio studio that in fact it did happen. Rush seemed to get quite ticked at Snerdly, kind of implying that Snerdly better cut it out.

Im not sure if its legit happening and Rush is actually ticked or if its all an act being put on by Rush.

So what did Hannity say about it?

Will be interesting dipping into his show open to see what  excuses he makes up.

Hannity said NOTHING about the whole thing on his radio show
until 4:44 Eastern, when a caller brought it up.

Hannity then said that the problem was with the feed
from the people conducting the event,
and that Fox had nothing to do with it.

Do networks normally rely on feeds from event promoters,
or do they normally set up their own cameras and mics?

Hannity is spending his whole hour on TV tonight with Ted Cruz.
We can all see if it gets discussed then.
       _______

Here's the transcript of the subject on Rush's show.
Looks like it filled at least half the show.

http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2016/04/15/dirty_trick_cruz_audio_sabotaged_during_fox_news_broadcast_of_new_york_speech

Rush was very much of the opinion that the whole sabotage was planned.
Hannity dismissed the idea.

Levin really went off on Fox news, Rupert and his whole crew.   Hell, he cam close to even calling out Hannity.

I would love to hear them one on one on either of their programs and really talk about this election.

As for Levin, he wasn't going off on Fox specifically in regards to the dinner, though he did speak about that some.  It was more about their shameless promotion and support across the board.

I just didn't like how FOX handled it...the dual mic thing went on for a long, long time making Cruz look pathetic...like the crowd had given up on his speech and were milling around the place because they were tired of his speech. If it was intentional...I think it was done by the event coordinators. Fox could have cut in immediately and told people what was happening. It is also bothersome that Fox continued the narrative that people were like walking out on the speech. I don't think that was happening...

You have to remember that this wasn't in a Fox studio. It was done on location. So it is doubtful the main mic on Cruz was from Fox. Fox only has their own mics on the journalists they sent there. Other than that they have little control. They can tap into the entire audio system there but if things go wrong they have little or no control over it.

Space at this level of new event is usually at a premium, and it is entirely likely that event planners did not anticipate the number of feet which COULD stomp on and loosen any connections between the microphone and the amplifying equipment.

It happened to me in my radio days, long ago. I learned after that to wrap electrical tape around EVERY connection...after the barn door and the horse and the botched broadcast.

There 's no excuse for this, Cruz was promised equal exposure, he was last in a line up that should have had Ksux speaking last.
Point is, they cut Cruz short and owe him that exposure, and so far they have not owned up and accepted responsibility.
FOX is already in the tank for Trump, so they should be bending over backwards to prove they can live up to their motto/claim of "Fair and Balanced", which is looking everyday to be more and more leftist like the rest of the networks.

What I'm saying though is FOX could and should have cut in immediately when the audio problems started and informed us of an issue instead of letting Cruz go on in his speech that just became background noise compared to the silverware scraping the plates. After Hannity finally comes on live after letting this go forever, he barely mentions a problem and goes right to Trump news. I personally thought it was sickening to watch...

Was it done literally by fox news? no,  did they revel in it happening and use it as a tool to humiliate Cruz and prop up Trump?? ya bet.

Did Trump purposely delay his arrival to push Cruz's portion into the dinner hour?  uh huh.

Could there have been tacit coordination between the trump campaign and either/or/and hotel event staff and whatever unions that would of been involved in running audio at the event

...entirely within the realm of possibility

Remember the good old days
when you would watch the news
and see someone talking to a table full of microphones?

When I was growing up, I'd see that on TV, and think
"Someday, I want to be important enough that
people will fill a table full of microphones
just to hear what I have to say!"

Journalists used to bring their own sound equipment all the time.
Looks like they should still be doing it.

Nobody was listening to Cruz anyway, judging by the table-clangor and sounds of people conversing during it.  And what was the point of wearing a tuxedo, then reciting the same ol' Wisconsin speech?  It all looked and sounded pretty awkward.

Why didn't they? When a studio goes live to an event that is expected to take a while the studio expects to not be on air for a while. Where was Hannity? Probably in the bathroom. I expect they didn't cut back to the studio because they were unprepared. It happens all the time.

OneAmerica kept rolling with it, since they're not commercial-driven.  I clicked-over to that when Trump left and Kelly went to some air-filler focus group.

Fox was stuck being obligated to sponsors.

The auditorium-mike was on.  Only the broadcast-feed glitched-out.  That's why the audience wasn't reacting, and no techies swarmed Cruz to fuss with the podium.  Cruz kept right on talking and talking and talking and talking and talking...  Sales of Sominex probably dropped big-time after that speech.

Ted's message would not be very popular with that audience,
the "donor class" New York types.

He said:

CRUZ:  The heart of our economy is not Washington, DC.
The heart of our economy is small businesses
all across the United States of America.  (Applause)
And if you want to see the economy take off, it's very simple:
You lift the boot of the federal government
off the back of the necks of small businesses.
If I'm elected president --

http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2016/04/15/dirty_trick_cruz_audio_sabotaged_during_fox_news_broadcast_of_new_york_speech

Many in that New York audience DO see
the NYC corporate bosses and the DC lobbyists they buy
as being the heart of the economy!

Seriously? You bought the LSM excuse that suddenly as if someone cast a spell over the audience and told them to eat as loud as possible, and ignore Ted, we have a message to send?
You see, this is why you and all the other Trumpaloons fail to see Trump is losing, you've turned off all critical thought and focus solely on what you want to see, not the actual reality of any given moment.

Listening to Kasich and Cruz supporters calling into radio talk shows said Cruz was giving a mesmerizing speech, that everyone was  actually listening intently.
They all said they were shocked to find out what happened, because nothing changed on their end.

It was a "Gala" and dinner in the ballroom of the hotel.

People dress up for these occasions.

As far as people conversing and dishes clanking, is because they were eating, not sitting in folding chairs in a row.

..and Trump, the first speaker was late... SIGNIFICANTLY LATE, pushing Cruz's speech into the dinner portion of the event...

It was a coordinated effort between the Trump campaign ant hotel staff and/or unions.   Who the F mics ambient noise at a speaking event?  And regardless, if they did have a accidental issue, wouldn't you inform the speaker, make an announcement, fix the problem and resume the presentation?

...and FOX news was an indirect co conspirator given that it took them 20 minutes to acknowledge the issue and address is officially.

I was disappointed that I couldn't hear Cruz' speech after ten minutes or so.  I don't know if it happened by accident or by design, but it was disappointing. Trump for some reason talked about restoring the old Commodore Hotel into the Grand Hyatt or whatever it is.  We all know that he's a builder and I really didn't care to hear about it.  It's also disappointing to see Republicans resort to dirty tricks like the Democrats do.

I didn't listen to Kasich because I 've heard him tell how great he was in Washington and Ohio a dozen times. I want to know what they plan for the future.

You are absolutely right.

Many of the "reporters" and "presenters" on Fox are getting to be as bad and as shrill as Rachel Madcow's and Chris "I get a tingle up my leg" Matthew's tired arse's over on MSNBC.

Thank God this is the modern era. And we aren't all dependent on ABC, NBC, CBS or the news paper's anymore.
