He has also went on a few rants on his radio show that have been absolutely incredible...   I admit, I may have a bias because he is local here in Atlanta and I have been exposed to him more, but he is no fluke.  Believe it or not, he is so good, that he transcends race as well.  I can't remember if I told this story or not, but last year sometime, I was deep in Georgia at a guy's house who fixed and repaired semi trucks, cars, tractors, etc.  When I went over there, there were about 5 or 6 old white southern guys standing around in the garage, talking about this and that and shit I have no interest in.  They started talking about politics, and all were tearing Obama apart.  They all agreed they would vote for Cain, hands down, and this was before he was entertaining running.  The setting is what you probably envision it to be, with Confederate flag, John Deer hats, and the whole nine yards, but they all agreed Cain would be their man.   That really made an impression on me...

One thing for certain, the man can fire up a crowd.
So far I have yet to see where one of his speeches was a dud.

One thing that the libs will go after him on, since they sort of do locally here, is his temper.  He is known to have a hot temper.  I, of course, have no problem with that ;-)

What makes you think we dont need the independent vote?
IMO Obama will do something close to election time to make alot of people happy and make them forget his wrong doings, and it will work, especially on the same losers it worked on in 08... I still think he will get alot of the black vote, because they dont want their first black president to come off as a 1 term failure... some people have really short term memory, and if Obama can make something good happen in his favor it might just work for him....I certainly do not want to underestimate him...~maybe I am over thinking, but it is because I dont want to be stuck with a crap candidate like Newt or Mitt...

One thing 2010 showed, when the tea party/independent vote is unanimous, the elections will go that way.  Think of Obama mania in '08, and how close it was electorally.... it won't be like that again.  He can have the muzzies, Friscans, and anti-Americans...  everyone else will sway towards the conservative.

Obama has done too much damage for anyone to be suckered in by him like that (except for his core, of course).

What I actually meant was, we don't need to cater to the independent, they will vote for a true Conservative regardless, if they don't, they wouldn't have voted for RINO either.

But I think you may be thinking the Hope and Change thing will resurface, but it won't.
The economy is in shambles, his policies had increased our debt so much, that the World fears the dollar.
Gas prices won't be coming down in 2012 either, the left will not allow drilling, they own the fuel crisis.

There is too much wrong and his charisma is gone, the youth that backed him like a rock star have all but turned against him.
And the reason for that is, they listen to their parents, so their exuberance was merely a reflection of their parents opinions of the man.

One thing I hold on to is thinking people vote, and when a real conservative is in place, more conservatives (more thinking people) will vote.  You can have 1000 people riled up about Hussein, but if 10 of them vote, and 7 of them vote conservative, then that is what is important.

Thinking people will have a handle on his policies, and how crappy they have been.  One thing that isn't taken into account much is how he pokes at the fears of people who love the country, and are scared of losing our way of life.  Hussein is so anti-American that he scares so many of these people to death, which will drive them to vote for a conservative this time around, even though many of them gave Hussein a shot in 08.

I agree, and as an example, look to the Reagan Carter vote.

I have to disagree, Solar. 'Looks' do matter, especially to the ladies. Toads need not apply. Uh-oh! I'm going to catch hell for that remark!  :)) :))

As for the Independents, I can just speak for myself. I became an Independent because I couldn't stomach what the Republican Party had become. It wouldn't surprise me if a great many of the current Independents were former Republicans.
