I have to say I am sorry for the above post.  I am going to let it stand though because if you are an American production worker you hear this kind of stuff all of the time.  And I said it because that is always what I think.  Are these corporate Supervisors, managers and CEO's excluding themselves from the lazy label?  As if the difference in position makes them a superior race above the lower class Americans.  Think about it.  The boss only hires these people because he .......  Work ethics don't come from what ethnicity you are.  When I hear this crap I think of my day at work.  The person sitting back in their chair socializing when the boss isn't looking.  I work hard whether anyone is looking or not so this kind of discussion is offensive.  Sorry I asked if anyone is lazy but because I'm American and production worker I am automatically grouped into the lazy workers.

How does it depend on the job?  When I was a young lady I worked at a construction site.  I cleaned out the condo units after the framers were done.  $25 a unit.  I also nailed floor and wall board.  Dug some ditches.  Did lots of unpleasant jobs too.  Like the contractor had a home with water in crawlspace.  I had to go under and dig.  Young lady digging under the house.  It isn't a job I didn't want to do. 

Then there were many young American men getting their starts in the construction business.  That's when Americans learned construction business and started their own companies.  I was just making some money for rent.  But just like it was said in a previous post.  Sub contractors don't hire Americans anymore.

I understand, but you can't fault the sub contractors too much.  Everyone is under a margin and labor cost squeeze.  You can get foreign workers to do a lot more work for less money.  That increases production, and in manufacturing, reduces your cost per unit.  The solution is to kill the unions, eliminate the minimum wage.  I don't have a problem eliminating the H-1b visas.

No, but its always a disappointment.  Paying taxes so that self loving politicians can say the American workers aren't worth anything.  Not even a job.
