If we want the socially conservative voters to actually vote, we start by nominating a social conservative candidate much like Reagan.  That would be Ted Cruz!

If we want to ignore this large voting bloc...... we will get the same results as 2012 and 2008!

But the Establishment keeps this from happening because they denigrate and vilify all of the conservative candidates.  And we foolishly keep splitting the conservative vote with too many candidates!

Down playing and moving the debate toward pressing fiscal, immigration and military issues is not compromise! Once in office we can deal with social issues but we have to get there first! Concentrate on our strongest advantages!
I really like this thread; it's RIGHT on, Brother!

One thing missing.  The Libtards and all their enablers (including Chief Justice Roberts) may have overreached in their compromising of our values and what the American people have repeatedly said they do not want any part of (Obamacare and Gay Marriage).  The political pedulum always swings way too far; one way and then to the other side of the specturm.  Why is it that it always seems that until things have gone way too far, the majority of Americans ignore what is happening to this country?

Obamacare and Gay Marriage represent both social issues and fiscal policy issues that affect our daily lives.  These are not some sort of esoteric issues; they are mainstream, Main Street America issues!

Perhaps, just perhaps...this election; BOTH the social issues and the fiscal issues will be brought together in the American people's total rejection of the Dictatorial Power of the Liberal Elite Oligarchy and those who enable them to forces CHANGE that the majority of people do not want!
The press is our chief ideological weapon.

I absolutely agree with your first paragraph. I do not think we are at the point for 2016 that we are splitting the conservative vote as much as the RINO's are splitting theirs. At this point I only see three conservatives, Cruz, Walker and Jindal. I discount Sanroum as he has little traction and will not go very far. Trump and Fiorina are fiscal conservative, but not the full deal. They do have value in the race. I personally think Paul is a goof ball. Graham and Huckabee are are faux conservatives. Who is left? Bush, Pataki, and Rubio are certified RINO's. Let them mules fight over the leftover corn cobs.

hhmm... speaking of swinging pendulums..... can anyone tell me when the pendulum actually moved too far right?

I am quite serious.  I cannot think of any time within my lifetime that it veered to an extreme Right.

Lest anyone mention McCarthy..... historical records that were only unsealed recently prove that old Joe was actually very much on track with his thinking.  One of Ann Coulter's books covers this "alarm about subversive communism" beautifully.  As far as I know, she is the only one who has researched these newly opened archives.  No one else seems remotely interested.

I totally agree with your analysis but I am not sure all conservatives have your clarity of thought.  You haven't even mentioned Perry who does draw conservative votes from the pool of voters.

To me Perry is in there with Huckabee and Graham. I don't think he wil llast long either. I really believe the SC primary will reduce the field significantly.

Why is it limited to one or the other?  I think all issues are fair game and should be on the table.
And how many times have we seen the libs frame an election around one stupid statement a senate candidate made that has cost us an election? Stick to our winning issues! " It's the economy stupid" Remember Bill? We have the other party by the short hairs on so many issues why would we want to put such a distraction in the debate? Hillary wants to frame herself as the women's savior Why would we want to give her ammunition by changing the debate to Abortion?
All we need is anyone of our conservatives to win! We already know their record on these social issues. Fight this fight on the record of the liberals and we will win! Show how untrustworthy Hillary is and we will win! They want to change the debate, Why let them?

You sound like someone who reads Mother Jones.  At least the Koch Brothers aren't a bunch of communists that support liberals.

The danger to America is not Barack Obama but the citizens capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency.

Absolutely correct! The e-mail situation is something people understand. The democrats and MSM will do everything they can to distract from this. We need a candidate who can articulate this situation eloquently and frequently. We already have a head start as over 50% of the folks do not think she is honest and trustworthy. Those people will not vote for her.

Know why Hillary wants Jeb to run against? "Terri Schiavo"! Hillary will dredge up and run on this poor dead girls body! This is not where we want this election to head
