Title: NATO Would Probably Lose a War Against Russia

With the hyper-aggressive resolution just passed by the US House of Representatives we move closer to open war. Thus what follows may be apposite. In short, the US and NATO, accustomed to cheap and easy victories (at least in the short term – over the long term Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Kosovo are hardly victories), will have a shattering shock should they ever fight the Russian Armed Forces.

Just how would Russia, with its economy in tatters, invade, defeat and occupy large segments of eastern Europe?

Man, you're really swallowing the media distraction of the "drum beat of war" aren't you?
Get it through your thick skull, it is Putin being the aggressor here, he needs the people to focus on what they perceive as the evil West interfering the good people of Russia.

When will you people learn, the USSR is dead, people just want to live their lives in peace, that it's you who are the aggressor.

I don't know, but somehow russians always have something in their sleeve... Hitler also was counting on Russia being"colossus on clay legs"...

At least we don't deploy Interior Ministry Police to shoot conscripts who run from the front lines

And why are parents forbidden by law from opening an unsealed casket?

That's because US never fought the war for survival.  Look at the action of policemen - they can shoot you in peace time if they just think you have something in your hands that they consider threatening. And you think that Government and Army, at war, being in position of high danger, will not defend themselves (and country) against acts of cowardice and desertion, or open treason, you are fooling yourself.

The invasion of the Baltic states would be a defensive measure? What threats are they to Russia?

Where is this garbage is coming from, I mean talks about "russian invasion" of Baltic states? From hysterical claims of pro-nazi puppet rulers of failed Baltic states?
BTW this is interesting interview from John Batchelor Show:

Let them run away.  They'll have to face their family, friends, and Russian-society's disgust for the rest of their lives.  It's not a good policy to shoot them on the fighting ground.  It makes the Ukranians think that Russia is worried about losing the battle.

The Nazi's wasted their best allies - the Russian people themselves. The Germans believed the Slavs were sub human, and - most importantly - insisted on treating them that way. They weren't smart enough to hid their true intentions until AFTER they had won the military battle. They only left the Russians the choice of the devil they knew or the foreign devils. However, all of Eastern Europe knows life would be infinitely better under western rather than Russian rule. They've had Russian rule before.

Very big delusion.
