Lot's of talk lately about registering women for the Draft.

But let's get real.

How can you have a Draft when 40 to 50 Million "Residents" in the USA are not even here Legally ?

Can you imagine US Citizens being rounded up to fight while Illegals watch and LAUGH ?

Perhaps you don't know, the surefire way for illegals to gain citizenship short of amnesty (aka "comprehensive immigration reform") is to volunteer to serve in any branch of the U.S Armed Forces. As for rounding up Americans to serve, if donkeycrats win White House in 2016, illegals are legalized, 'n war breaks out, draft boards will round up the least educated 'n mostly unskilled citizens between 18-26 y.o.a. ---- which means bulk of those 40-50 million will be drafted to become cannon fodder against our enemies..!!

Therein lies a problem.

It's not 1917. Modern American Military tactics do not require "Cannon Fodder" to engage in mass charges against Machine Guns.

We do need skilled Technicians, who can READ manuals, usually written in English.

We don't want Rapists, Criminals, Gang Bangers, and the very poorly educated in the Ranks.

There is a reason Mexico (and all) are sending us certain people. They are sending us, mainly, the worst of their society, not their best.

Yes. Because as things are now, that is exactly what would happen if Congress ever needed to re-institute the draft.

Having grown up in the pre-lottery period of the draft I come down on not reinstating the draft. It was a terrible system and the all voluntary armed services seems to be working just fine. The key is taking care of those who do volunteer. As Salem Cat pointed out, our military requires more technical skills than we have in the past.

Not trusting politicians there is room for all kinds of shenanigans with a draft. I can see democrats using the draft to make illegals citizens. Just draft a ton of them and award citizenship.

We neither need, nor really want a drafted military force anyhow.

I was just saying that yes, because of selective service, it is possible for Congress to authorize a draft tomorrow.

And yes, you can bet our Government, particularly our Congress would, if our Military said it needs a draft to maintain fighting ability. Or the safety and security of the United States.

But, they'd start recalling prior service who are still in their inactive phase of their enlistment contracts first, before that.

But the answer to your q, is yes it can be done. Yes the government would do it. That's why it has put the selective service in place, just so it can should the need arise.

And yes, women being equal to men in all things in our society, should have to sign up for selective service.

Just as any man does. Not exempt women as the law currently does. See that would truly be "democratic" and "democracy".

Show of hands, how many women, who are exempt from the draft just by virtue of being a woman, are glad we don't live in a "democracy" where they would have to sign up, and instead live in a Constitutional Republic?

Agree with all your points. Females should have to register just as males. In today's armed forces they can do as good or better than males in many positions.

They would "draft" them, bestow them Citizenship, and then place them in a situation where either their "Basic Training" would be indefinite, or perhaps even release them with orders that "we'll call you when we need you."

Along with that would be an order of Martial Law, immediately outlawing the sale of guns and ammo. To keep order.
