I can see her point, though I checked out in the 80s, tossed my TV, and bailed on the city.
I can't imagine how frustrating it must have been to conform, because if you didn't, the crowd left you behind.
I do remember the "KLEEN" Obsession, but that started in the early 80s, didn't it, back when kids started getting sick for no reason, only to discover parents were overprotective and immune systems weren't developing correctly....
I miss the 50s, 60s and some of the 70s the most.
Tip to the young: be your own leader, set your own pace, and make them follow you!
