Post by: Solars Toy on September 25, 2011, 10:18:10 AM
Just curious does anyone plan on watching this new series tomorrow night?

We'll give it a shot, but I don't hold out much hope for it, it looks too formulaic, a woman better and stronger than men, Dr Smith type character in the group, etc...

Lets be honest, these people would be killed off the first week in the real World.
I know, I'd be the one hunting them. :))

I shall await with bated breath. It is my kind of show.

Is it because they are going to be hunting really large dinosaurs with really big guns?  Personally I am looking at it from the survival of the fittest angle... Plus I believe it is being shot in Australia so the scenery should be beautiful.   ;)

We were looking forward to that.  Programmed it on the PVR.

The guy in the middle of the photo looks like Joel McHale from the Soup. Bad sign if that's who it really is.

But they have the badass dude from Avtar so that's a good sign.

Of course it's gonna be formulaic. All TV sci-Fi is hack writing with themes about as subtle as Gilbert Gotfried in a thong. it just comes with the genre. But maybe it can still be fun.

Let me just say, I could have watched reruns of the original Startrek and been more entertained.

Yes, I'm a hard critique to please, but that sucked!

At least that would have been entertaining...

I didn't catch it. Was the plot line smothered with PC talking points?

As I'm a sucker for this type of show, I overall enjoyed it.

The original premise was somewhat politically motivated, but once the travel back through time to 85 million years before, has taken place, it was somewhat like the Gunfight at OK Corral, with the critters being the Clanton Gang.

I really do not believe it will survive past the first season, ( 13 episodes ) if that long.

Yeah, these types of shows do great in syndication so I am sure the business side of entertainment will give the show every chance for success.

They're going to try to pull a LOST--moral ambiguity, questions over who to root for, adding characters and plot twists, etc.

I'm convinced that the leader of Terra Nova is a bad guy.  Who's a good guy.  Who's a bad guy.

We'll see...

Exactly!!!
I suspect the Black chick is the good guy, the other camp leader is part of a bigger plan for the future.
That is, if you are patient enough to wait 85 million years... :))
I really doubt I'll watch it again, that is, unless I'm sick and can't get to the remote to change the channel or stick in a DVD...

You called it, I guess it flopped. No real surprise.
