Rest in peace, Andy. You brought much joy to many people.
One of the greats of American television, without a doubt.
The show was pretty much an paralleled the life I experienced as a young boy.
The innocence of Opies childhood and his interaction with his father were the lessons we grew up with, look at the crap on TV by comparison.
Ron Howard and I are the same age, in fact, I had a nickname of Opie because we looked a lot alike in those days.
But the fact is, all the kids I grew up with shared what it was to be a boy growing up rural, from fishing to catching lizards, we all shared a basic morality, core values, a morality that today simply doesn't seem to exist anymore.

Something many city kids can only dream of.
Cities are not the way of the future, if they are, we are lost as a people.
