RIP Andy.

I did not care for his politics, but aside from that he was a good and decent man.

On the first reports I heard to day the news reader gave his age as being 88, even though they gave the correct year of birth!

A great and funny guy. Actors that are loved by everyone, should not get involved in politics. The only place to go, from being loved by everyone...................is down.

The first time I saw Andy perform was in a stage play called "The Lost Colony" in Roanoke Island,NC.He played the part of Sir Walter Raleigh.

After he gained fame in television and movies just a few years ago,a life sized bronze statute of Andy and Opie was erected in one of the Raleigh city parks.I believe the park is Pullen Park.

Andy came into our homes every week as kids with Aunt Bea and Opy.

That show produced one of the greatest producers in Hollywood today in
Ron Howard. Andy said they knew that would happen back then. Ron would
read a script and said kids don't act like that. The producer said how do the
act and Ron showed them.

They were amazed and put his suggestions in the script.

I hated their politics. Andy and Ron re-visited their roles in making a vid
for Obama during the campaign. Made me sick.

Everyone should download NO TIME FOR SARGEANTS one of his  great films
with Don Knotts. Andy's character just loved latrine duty and had the cleanest
bathrooms in the Army.

RIP

"Permanent Latrine Orderly," PLO. Too much. I still marvel at how he rigged that foot treadle to make all the toilet seats SALUTE!  :tounge: :tounge: :tounge:
