Talk about lib idiocy, this is the ultimate. The state is bankrupt and they are thinking about breaking away from the USA. Anyone interested in buying their bonds or investing CA currency?

"Officials", what fuckin "Officials" are they talking about, a bunch of pissed off libs in the Moon Bat/Bay Area?
As much as they want to be taken seriously, the state as a whole views them for the mental cases they are.
I'd say, slow news day for the leftist press, they're just tired of Trump stealing all the limelight.

In the Spring of 2019, Californians will go to the polls in a historic vote to decide by referendum if California should exit the Union, a #Calexit vote.
You will have this historic opportunity because the Yes California Independence Campaign will qualify a citizen's initiative for the 2018 ballot that if passed would call for a special election for Californians to vote for or against the independence of California from the United States.

Didn't we go through this just before the civil war?
Doesn't the precedence that stopped states from seding then (I don't know what it was) still apply?

This movement is going nowhere. Just a minority screaming at the top of their lungs.

As a taxpayer I would welcome a total cut-off of foreign aid to a neighboring hostile nation. Contain this menace and force them to pay for their own insane ideas, and not everyone else.

I thought it was. I went looking for it and haad no luck finding it.
I did, however, have the two questions.
If I reposted it, Solar, I apologize. In the case I did repost, would you add my questions to the discussion?

I was starting to think I was losing it. I searched my posts to see if I had responded.
Walks, you wanna merge these two, thanks.
How much does it cost to have this election? Ballots have to be printed, I assume someone will be buying advertising to explain the virtues of voting yer or no, voting stations will have to be opened and manned, ballots counted.................I'm guessing the $ will be a least a couple of million, so who but the tax payer pays for this nonsense? And, if it passes, how long will it take for the new nation to go socialist? I guess less than one year, its damn near there now.

We have to understand if it is a liberal's idea cost is not an issue. If it is a conservative idea liberals are concerned about the cost. A current prime example is the cost of "Trump's wall".

My issue is in the process of gathering signatures. In the past, say 45 years ago, pretty much all of Ca was Conservative, cept' for a few hubs of waste, but gathering signatures anywhere in the state still reflected the majority opinion, but now, all they have to do is set up anywhere in the Bay AArea and fill their quota solely by petitioning communists.
I don't know the rules involved now, but I can tell you, they didn't petition my county or any number of counties east of the coastline, they wouldn't get any signatures.

Any commercials yet, I would like to see how the left is going to portray this as positive. I can see a mass ammount of businesses leaving which means the tax $ will come from the unemployed?

To be honest, I think FOX was going for the shock factor. No one is talking about it beyond the article, which is purposely vague, tells absolutely nothing about it, or who is involved, used the term "Officials" as if it carries any weight.
Fact is, the only thing that took place here, is they're allowed to gather signatures. That's it.
Here's the actual nonstory, a leftist PAC was cleared to gather signatures. Big whoop...
"Secretary of State Alex Padilla said the group behind the proposal, Yes California Independence Campaign, was cleared to begin attempting to collect nearly 600,000 voter signatures needed to place the plan on the ballot."

Make those brown skidmarks in their underware...
The left hasn't had a chance to take a breath all this week, every morning they woke up, Trump once again, either flattened their tires, poured water in their gas, or cut the extension cord to their Tesla, but every day it's something new, staying several steps ahead of them.

Hell, his energy level is that of a 40 year old. Honestly, I'm shocked at the pace he's keeping, damned if he hasn't done more work in his first week, than Obozzo did in a year.
I'm just glad the little Marxist was ignorant and lazy.

Good Lord! Can you imagine the damage Bammy COULD have done if he'd been this prolific while having a democratic controlled congress? :scared:
