I had to put the gardens away today. Saved as many green tomatoes as I could, some jalepenos to. But I have my (please grow up and work) indoor salad garden going.... Its just brand new,,, but so far the rogue tomato plants are still alive and growing. I will put a grow light on them Monday,,,
Cleared out all the dead stuff from the flowers and started to thatch the back yard,,,I will wait and do that another day...
Tomorrow the DTV guy is coming to hook up another box. I learned my lesson while he was home,,, have mercy a day full of the weather channel just about did me in,lol.
This weekend we have the chili cook off down to the cabin.... Thursday I will be making chili, lol. Got 4th place last year,,,, which means I got ice. 1st is a bottle of crown, 2nd is cups, 3rd is coke and 4th is ice. No theme there,lol... I'll take ice,,,I dont do Crown, lol
Yep,,,been a bit busy, hope everyone is doing well.
;)
I think you are always busy! Hope you actually have a minute or two to watch that TV.

But today I did learn a new rut-ro phrase,,, now I have to find out what fiscal cliff really means... think I will check the poli room and see if anyone has brought that up....or the finance room,,,yea yea thats probably the one....
But I can say,,, my tomato's are doing really well and the seeds I started are starting to pop!,,yaaaay! lolololol
Elfie is a river. She is the unstoppable force to the worlds immovable objects. She has her rapid parts, and her quiet parts, but she never, ever stagnates. She has eddies in her current where her body pauses but her mind keeps going, and where she has falls she recovers herself and keeps moving towards whatever bends and switchbacks are unseen before her. She nourishes those around her, and flows through dams when she has to, and smashes through them when she must. She is an inspiration to many people, and a few fear her. There are few lazy parts of her as a river; where there are, those still waters do run deep.
If you are with her, she is always going to support you and long as your journey is you will want nothing.
If you you are against her, bring a life jacket. And a helmet.

Not to mention the miserable humidity of Florida.
No thanks, I'll take the snow any day of the week over muggy.

The Key West is usually a little cooler than other places in Florida because of the sea breeze and even in the hottest months you can still feel that island breeze.
August is the hottest and most humid month of the year. There's usually a breeze, which helps, but if heat and humidity are big issues for you, you might consider going to the Keys at a different time of the year.
As for me, I love the heat, I can always turn up the a/c and stay inside until 7pm or longer.
I'm a night owl at times and i like to travel the city at night.

spent last 20 years in Ohio. All kids (3) grew up there. NEVER did teach them kids what a snow shovel is for.
NOW, I am in Florida --- I enjoy all four seasons down here, Almost Summer, Summer, Still Summer, Rainy.
I have been here 2 years - haven't seen the first big snake (3 little ones - but I was out looking for them)
Love, love, love the keys -- wish I were closer to them - 5+ hours away by illegal speed.
Next move for me will be into small enclosure where my ashes will soon be distributed on Sanibel Island, hopefully in Ding Darling!
Kids all gone. Just me, my best friend and wife, an lakeland terrier that thinks he owns the house, an airedale terrier that knows she owns the house, and a big yellow tabby cat that allows us to take care of him.
I am still working (thank God - and no help from Obama).
You are all welcome to come down to Florida anytime....its as close to paradise as you can get.
Florida is nice to visit. Alot of my family is there. Different parts. Lived in Fort Myers for a brief time. It was ok. But if I play my cards right, I hope to move to anywhere middle ot just above middle Arizona. Not now but when I can. I like to visit Florida though.....

Not around Flagstaff,lol....
Not a desert dweller here. I will most likely end up in Southern Florida. It will be a challenge as there are a lot of invasive speicies and terrain I am not used to, as well as the wet heat, but I am fairly adaptable. If Elfie goes west, I will have a place to dry out.

Nor Battle Mtn, more like nowhere near anything.
I just want a spot where I'm so far away from Govt I don't have to look over my shoulder.
It would be just a retreat, not a place to live, maybe prospect a bit, hunt for fossils.
I've just gotten so sick of Ca and the Fed curtailing your every move, from designating an area as protected and locking it off, to....Hell, you name it, they are like a cancer on this great Nation.

Elfie, didn't you say that you are from Wisconsin? I wonder, do any of you or friends do any ice fishing? Like the type that the two "Grumpy Old Men" did as part of that crazy movie they made? I think they filmed it in Minnesota, may have been Wisconsin. Does it even get that cold there? I laughed at those two until i 'bout cried.

Alot happened here yesterday, as far as the weather is concerned. we had temps in the 80's here most of last week and it was forecast to only get in the low 60's as early as monday. Well, it didn't wait that long. By early evening the temp only reached the high 60's and by dark the wind started blowing really hard. We'll only get in the low 50's today and we have 26mph winds making it feel alot colder that it is. All of this because of the big snowfall to the north of us. It's early for us to be having this kind of weather. Back in the upper 60's by mid week. I have remembered the high for christmas Day in 1958 to be 70 deg.
