The good news.   I found my garage door opener I lost 9 months ago.  It was in my Winter Carhartt jacket.  I got my Carhartts out to plan in the snow on the quod, and there it was.  I must be getting old. 

DOH! Did the same thing this year too, with my gate opener and truck keys, since I had to buy another opener, at least we have a spare now.
Glad I didn't replace the truck key, they cost just short of $200.0 because of the damned chip.

Hopefully I'll find my brain in a misplaced beanie next winter. If it's not Toy, moving things around, it's me forgetting what....what, what? I forgot...

My garage door opener are so old you can not replace them.  They would have to replace the upper units.  As I the only one that needed it, it was not a problem.  It was just nice having one on the quod also.

I know what you mean, I hate getting out to open the gate, it's why I had the wrought iron installed.
I had used the remote on my quad and forgot to put it back in the truck last year, came back home and couldn't open the gate, no big I thought, I'll use the touch pad.....
Forgot the code.

Like I said, it's nice having an extra now. Also I wrote the code on a tree. Now, if I can just remember which tree it was...

By the way, seen the satellite? Ass freezing cold wave moving out of Alaska, it's already hitting here.
We had 51 degrees all night, it's now 35. Snow later on if we get any moisture.

That won't help if I ran out of gas and had to walk home.
Then I'd have to climb the fence, call a neighbor, climb back over 8' wrought iron spiked fence, have them drive me to the quad, hike the forest again to find it, and back again? (tongue n cheek)

True story, shortened version. Ex wife left keys in locked trailer, climbed down through skylight, 20 minutes later, emerges through same hole with keys. Triumphantly yells. "I Got them"!
Nearly peed myself laughing so damn hard.

Well Wed. night we hit 0º for about 4 hrs.  Wind at 15 mph so that put us down to a wind chill of -19º.  Was out on the quod playing, we have about 5" of snow around. 

My neighbor clean from my drive way and his all the way down the hill to the main road.  So that will be safe going down for shopping Friday at 5:00 A.M.  The last 2 days we have had ice trees in the A.M.   But by 2:P.M. it is gone with the sun coming out even at 16º. 

I put a multi laser light in the back yard at the side of the house.  When it was snowing there were thousands of little light all over as the snow was falling through the laser light. 

Looks like you have more snow on the way as well.

We are in the 40's right now day time.  It calling to get down to 27 again within the week.  Along with snow and ice off and on.  We are on a wild ride with temps this winter.  The back waters of the river have been freezing off and on, but not like 3 years ago.  The back water was solid for over a month.

We're still in the 20s every night, but if this is anything like 1990, we're screwed.
They claimed our below zero weather snap was a 100-year event, but records show they come every 30 years, and it will have been 28 when this one hits.
God knows I hope not because of everything freezes solid, even my waterfall had a 10' icicle extending out from the cliff and the water was only flowing beneath the ground.
Of course, I was on solar, but the neighbors all told me the power was out for 6 weeks solid, which means most of the county was out.

Ok we are starting down in the 20's daytime next week.  I see some night under 10º, that not counting the Wind Chill.  Also snow off and on, I think more off then on. 

I have had snow off and on all day.  Start up again about 1600 and snow steady, and is calling for snow all night.  Also will be snowing off and on Monday.  So I will see what we get over night.  It is a very fine snow that is very light and dry.

Weird ass storm! We were supposed to get several feet of snow, but all we got was a few inches, while the foothills below us by a few miles got more than a foot.
A system off the Equator kicked the cold front out to sea, and moved in with warm moist air and melted all the snow from 1500' elevation up to around 7000', though it's not really melting much above 5000', it is getting saturated with rain, and will soon turn into what we lovingly refer to as 'Sierra Cement'.
Once it freezes, it'll be like that till late spring. Looks like the subtropical air will be in your area tonight Walks.
