My sister lives in Harrogate North Yorkshire and was planning to fly home for Christmas. I was supposed to pic her up at the airport but her flight was canceled. Heathrow, one of the biggest and busiest airports in the world is completely shut down and the London Underground is a disaster because of.......less than an inch of snow. :'(

An inch of snow will totally CLOSE the I-75 route through Atlanta. Been there, seen that.

Up here we don't even break out our snow boots until it gets SERIOUS!.....

Within London, most winters never see a 1-inch snowfall. They're simply unprepared to cope with snow in any quantity.

Kinda like the folks in Atlanta!

Last winter, I traveled by truck through Tennessee and Arkansas in the worst of the snow, and the same thing was apparent in those places. Just not ready for such a thing, because it so seldom happens.

In Ft. Lauderdale, where my wife lived for many years, if the nighttime low gets much below 50 deg., they go nuts! Most of the houses down there have NO central heating system at all. Most of the people down there DO NOT OWN  and CANNOT FIND TO PURCHASE a heavy coat. (It was one of the first things I had to buy for Mrs. Tbone after she moved up here to Ohio.)

;D   I spent a whole year in Albany and in hindsight can honestly say I do not recall even ONE DAY of rain, much less a drizzle. I am quite serious.
