finally settin up the deck,,,gettin it all squared up for summer. Eyes helped me put the grill on it. That bad boy is big and heavey. Himself and I are getting a new load of wood for the wood burner thru the summer. We dothis every couple of years,,, it's good to clear out completely where the wood is stacked behind the shed. So I thought,ok,,,, I'll move the small amount closer to the gate and super clean the area. Now I am not especially particular to spiders, so I was using rakes and a couple of gardening tools that would pull up the wood that had been on the bottom for a few years. Thats when I saw the strangest little spider I had ever seen in my life. Teeny little thing, brown n redish in color. Went straight to google and frickin YUCK , come to discover it was a brown recluse. Run in house put shoes on. I got all these long handled things so I was sure I was not gonna get bit. By anything,lol. This beastie scrambled and I gave it wide space to hide. Back out side I thought ok,,,, be verwy careful. I was, raking up the dirt/ bark parts n pieces with a leaf rake, dam!!!!! there was a bigger one. Grabbed the shovel and semi squished it totally dead. Well I had to leave enough for proper identification. Then I got the bug killer seven and dusted the whole area----it's pretty much coated. Some would call it over kill,,,I call it not enough when it comes to those brown recluse. Later today I will be off to a landscapeing store of somekind, gonna find me lawn, house, shed brown recluse kill it gunk......
So much for tip toeing thru my yard for a while...
ugh,lololol, brown recluse spider in my yard,,,, oh so full of not good at all......
My recomendation Raid smoke fogger, I use this to kill our spider infestation every year.
Living in the forest comes with its own set of issues, and one is an abundance of spiders.
My living room is 30'x30' so I use four canisters, they recommend two.
But I swear by this stuff, it is smoke, not a liquid fog, it gets in every crevice.

I will look into that for the shed... thats where they were deep into the base of the pile.... that way I wont have to schlep roger n sophie and our bird to the river for alot longer then the weekend,lol....

This wekend was a working weekend for us. We finally didnt have guests. So we got alot done. The slider canopy's had to be replaced, so that meant the slider roofs had to be cleaned. No big deal, I am the light one so I pretty much spent 3/4 of the day on the roof,lol. Had 160 campers come in,,, they were mostly in the field behind the tree line. They canoe when they camp. One of em decided in his drunk-tardness to fall off the tail gate of the pick up, then the fire works started, they were pretty good. One cityit decided it was a good idea to blow off a distress flare , ya know the kind they use in an ocean...oh yea,,, stupid cityit.....
We pretty much hung out by the fire listening to the blues all night.
It became a wildlife/bug kinda weekend to. Little chipmunk came out nad gathered while I was on the porch swing having coffee, then the big ol snake decided to curl up in the old canopy we used to cover the wood we brought in.. That was fun,lol. HImself came out of the cabin with the biggest flyin thing I ever saw,,, it was inside his jeans, he felt it as he was inserting leg. So I took a cell pic and looked it up... A full grown hellgrammite(sp) it is. Silly thing must have crawled up his pant leg while we were by the fire. See, thats why I wear tight jeans... and lots of bug spray. Those things sure are ugly....and big to,lol....
But the cabin is clean, camper is ready and the pontoon is ready to go,well if it doesnt rain yet again.... I learned how to put new canopys on and fix the seals for the sliders....wasp nest and a bird actually tried to build a nest in there... So we are ready....... for what, who knows,,,,, but I got a new blues selection and clean everything..... I think I will call my new coffee buddy Chuck....... yea Chuck the chipmunk... hey it sounds better then, oh I dont know,,, it looks like a Chuck,lol.....
Have a good one,,,,, gotta go see how a FB buddy is doing in Minot,,,,, they are flooded big n bad there.....
