Isn't the 24th the "monthly anniversary" of this site?

September 25, 2010 to be exact, it took about a week to get it up and rolling from the day I finally decided to move on it.

Hmmm, we don't rank, but from what I've read, you need to be on the web several years to make a foot print.
Otherwise they simply don't see you.

It comes in part from reciprocated links. You mentioned someone told you only the "right" links count. I had a blog ranked at 1,300-something, and links from about 50 places sending me traffic. (Long time back when Truth Laid Bear was still doing ranks.) I started down about 17,000 or so and got there in six or seven months.

Network, y'all. Follow the first rule of politics. Who cares what they say as long as their link to you is accurate. (Ah, spell your name right....whatever.)

It would be nice if you help with that quiller... there's a cut of ad revenue in it for ya....

I'll see what I can find for you, but a lot of it is admin-to-admin. I doubt many site owners would take the word of a member over the admin in choosing whether to exchange standing links. In my case I was part of a huge group of bloggers, many of whom used a cut/paste sidebar of links to other sites also in that host's purview. Not exactly a "ring," I suppose they call it now.

Just tell them you're an admin.  I hearby bless you as an officer of CPF!

I said I'll see what I can do. I am not an admin and will not become one for any board I do not actually manage. As in, keys to MY kingdom, not someone else's.

You don't have to.  I'm just saying feel free to say you are a top dog.  That's all I'm saying.

It was a goodwill gesture, don't make it more than it is.
If you don't want to help, then just say so, you don't have to be pissy about it!

:'(   Who's being pissy, Solar? I didn't say I wouldn't help, but I'm not committing myself to something I may very well be unable to fulfill as completely as *I* --- NOT YOU --- may like.

Reciprocated links are damn tough. Even getting NOTICED and a one-time link is often hard, and delightful when it's from a big dog like, say, Dr. John Ray, or Grouchy Old Cripple. When I got accepted as a Loyal Citizen into the Rottweilers, under Darth Misha I, there was a moment where I couldn't even form the words to post my thanks.

Take Denny Wilson at G.O.C., for example. You guys know how I've been trying to catch his interest with my images. No joy so far, as the Brits may say. But hope springs eternal, and as a former blogger myself, I understand where he's coming from.

Denny and everyone just like him (OK, those who want to BE just like him!) spent years building their own sites, and I think it entirely reasonable that they would want to at least LOOK at this site before deciding whether to exchange links.
