Title: Plant and weed ID
Post by: Calypso Jones on May 20, 2020, 04:04:32 PM
Have this new app on my phone...plantnet   You take a photo and it identifies what you have.   For a couple years I've been controlling these 2 things in particular but have not identified them.

Last week...helleborus.  NOW THAT is fascinating..it is unusual, and quite lovely too...the history?  dark.  You should read it yourselves.   I'll post a photo.  Sometimes called Christmas rose.  Green flowers,  used by witches for invisibility and for flying.  (lol) and some used it to poison their friends and enemies.  ground cover.  interesting leaves.

so many varieties..red black pink, you're just going to have to look it up yourselves.  Some are quite dangerous looking.

I"ve allowed this to live for two years in my bed.  It's coming out first thing in the morning.

Garlic Mustard plant.  noxious weed in that it takes over woods and grasslands. It is not indigenous to this country.    Prolific.... destroy it.

Birds and animals won't eat it.  You can but I don't know how to fix it and I probably won't.

how to fix it.  if you harvest it to eat it pull the entire plant to avoid it spreading.

Cool! I love sites that help identify plants. I have several I have no idea what they are.

So all I do is snap an image of a plant, and they'll identify it?

that's what it looks like.  Sometimes it depends on how good your photo is I think.   as I said, I've had it only a week so i'm still learning.  But so far...mostly good.
