I am coming down to the last couple of weeks at my current job. Back in January my work advertised an opening for a job I use to do - same job classification - different unit. I decided to let them know I was interested and within 48 hours they offered me the job. I had to be released by my current boss who "negotiated" to keep me through the first budget deadline. I knew my co-worker, who I have been training to do my job is panicked, but I didn't realize that the executive management and other staff are too.
My new position will be a completely behind the scenes, occasional deadline, job that they are planning on me bringing my bulls by the horn attitude to. But even better is it will decrease my commute by almost an hour a day. I am planning on using this extra hour to have a schedule (9/80) that will give me every other Friday off.
Can hardly wait...... Toy (https://conservativepoliticalforum.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fsmileys.on-my-web.com%2Frepository%2FOthers%2Fothers-154.gif&hash=2409401b0234259576d19624768ff250b2f7afb4)

My last 10 years I work 12hr days. Week #one 4 on 3 off week #two 3 on 4 off. As I was management I did not get paid for working my days off. But I could bank my days off when I worked. So I could take off when I liked. Also when I retired I could cash them out, needless to say I had one big cash out check when I retired. I paid cash for my Dodge Ram and had 30.000 and some change left over. My last 3 years I was taking 5 weeks of vacation a year.

Sounds like that worked for you. I couldn't handle a 12 hour day with my commute. Plus I will be the lone supervisor over a small specialized group. Toy

They started running 24/7 so it worked great for me. My commute was only 10 miles and 90% of that was freeway driving.
Yay! Now will have a few extra minutes to hang out here.

Hoping so but with the nicer weather it will give me more quality time outside when I get home at night.
