Our cable and internet were knocked out Saturday evening by a thunderstorm. Overall outage was restored on Sunday, but my next door neighbor and I had individual issues. That is because we have a cable box in our yard and our damage was more severe.
Now the kicker. Our provider is Optimum, which is out of new York. I receive a reminder call on Tuesday about our Wednesday appointment. This message had the audacity to advise me I should wear a mask in my home while the technician was there. I did not!

I had a doozy up here decades back. Knocked out my computer, and I'm off grid. So I asked the neighbor if she had issues.
"ISSUES"? She said? Come in, I'll show you issues! Her dining table was toast, and on it was a melted indescribable mess of melted metal and burnt plastic.
It was her phone, the strike came through the phone line and screwed up everything, the table was an antique family heirloom, was completely destroyed. :biggrin:
I always dread lightning up here.

Mrs. Sup and I were watching TV in our den and it sounded like it hit right outside the window. Service was immediately lost. One of the technicians indicated it had to hit very close to the cable box located in our yard.
