Hi All, I am thinking to set up a place for myself in Florida. I would like to be off the grid, and also I would like to be somewhat out of the reach of the liberal-sponsored crime-zones of the state. I am wondering, do you know which part of the state could I start this at?
Florida? I can't imagine anywhere that isn't within a rocks throw of a lib there.
Why not a bit further West towards the Carolinas or something?
Other than a boat out in the swamp, libs are everywhere, I'd take my chances with the snakes, at least you know what they're up to.
I've been off the grid for more than two decades, wouldn't live any other way.
The northern central part of the state is an extention of the old south, but prepare yourself for some serious rednecks. I'm talking missing teeth and rebel flags.
Stay away from the southeast.
My recommendation would be to look around the coastal areas of the panhandle. Within 50 miles of the coast. Good people.
I agree witht he panhandle areas, Appalachicola area has started to rise as far as price goes, but it has a lot of geographical advantages. You should still be able to find reasonable areas that you can set up for self sufficient living. The soil is not the best for gardens, but you can find spiecies that will do well .
Thanks all.
