I've spoken before here of my oldest grandson that pitched for the University of Houston - Victoria Javelinas and went to the NAIA World Series, and then gave up his last year of eligibility to work. He works for Wilson Fire Systems and teaches pitching on the side. I do not know how many kids he works with at any one time, but he just was working with a kid that pitched for Houston Lamar High School. Long story short. He thought the kid had a lot of potential and called his old coach, Terry Puhl at UH-V and told him he needed to see this kid. Puhl watched him pitch, and offered the boy a scholarship on the spot. Austin feels pretty proud of that feat. Puhl told Austin he trusted him, and it appears he did so enough to sign the kid. Austin is thinking of getting his alternative teaching certification, teaching, and just maybe coaching.

Proud of all my grandkids. Every one of them is a keeper.
Sounds cool. Teachers who take that much interest in the wellfare of their kids are definitely what we need more of.

Truthfully, the young man I'm talking about is the son of my step daughter. She's been a part of my life though, since she was nine years old. I treat her just like my daughter.

Which is how DIL should be treated...I too am very fortunate to have a sweet Daughter in Law...She has been a part of our life since she was 13... God has been very good to us indeed.
