Lieutenant Governor Tim Murray helped rescue two children from a partially burning vehicle in Worcester Tuesday night, officials said.
In a statement, Kimberly Haberlin, a spokeswoman for the governor's office, said Murray was driving in the Webster Square area of Worcester when he noticed a parked minivan with a tire on fire. Murray dialed 911, when he heard someone scream that children were inside the burning vehicle, Haberlin said.

Murray approached the vehicle and helped the children get out safely, and escorted them to their nearby grandmother, Haberlin said. Shortly thereafter, the fire was extinguished by emergency personnel who arrived on scene.

Haberlin said Murray is happy that everyone is safe.

Nice tale, but what exactly is a "partially burning" vehicle? I would think the vehicle was either on fire or it was not. Isn't that akin to saying a woman is "partially pregnant?"  :P :P :P

lololo, I wonder if partially burning means it was a spare tire... :P

I guess I find myself wondering just how heroic the whole business was in reality. I've seen a tire on fire. I don't recall thinking the entire vehicle was automatically toast. Tires burn badly and tend to go out if not fed with other sources of heat.

Maybe I'm wondering if the Boston paper, a dyed-in-the-wool Democrat rag, maybe took an opportunity to promote as a hero a dyed-in-the-wool Democrat hack, whether anything actually heroic took place or not.

I guess that's my take...  :P :P :P

I know what you mean...I did check his "party affiliation".  I was just trying to not be too cynical since he had already been reelected for his second term anyway....a couple of months ago I might have wondered... :) :)

And now he's that "hero guy," the one that saved those kiddies from certain destruction. (They were probably locked in that minivan.)  :P :P :P

Wait a bit, and that is EXACTLY what the MSM will come up with.

Still in all,, the kids were saved while the lady stood n watched....I wonder why she didnt get those kids out.  Good thing he was there...
