Deer gun season starts tomorrow here in Ohio, 2 days of heavy rain are forecast for the start of the season.
This will flood the bottoms and drive the deer to higher ground but will make for tough hunting conditions. Oh well, If it was easy everyone would be do'in it.
My husband and son both hunt, so hopefully one of them will bag us a really good one this year. I make a killer venison stew (that should answer ST's question about favorites), but have to make a lot since it goes so fast. It shouldn't be a problem down here in GA, especially since there are so many, they just walk right out on the roads.
We have the same problem here, we call them rats with antlers.
I've hit three in three years on motorcycles, but I know if I took my gun out to look for one, they'd dress up like trees and I never see one.
Our first gun was week before Thanksgiving. Alot of people were not happy,,, second gun season they were seeing nothing.... IF I remember correct Illinois only came out with 66 thousand this year,,,
So how did you do?

I'm not a hunter, but if I were hungry, then there is no such thing as a season.
We are over run with the antlered rats weighing in at 500 lbs a pop.
Our hunting regs are all screwed up, not to mention the idiots that feed them year around.
