Here's a round-up of the fictional characters who are most associated with a particular U.S. state.

I was delighted to see Robocop for Michigan, Freddy Krueger for Ohio (take that, Buckeyes!), and Ferris Buehler for Illinois. That last one reminds me of the Obama administration....

It doesn't know if it wants to be pop-cultural or not.  'Best known' from what?
