Title: A mucians thread...
Post by: Cryptic Bert on February 13, 2011, 05:59:02 PM
I think we need one if we have any musicians in the forum. I posted it here instead of the entertainment forum because it is about members. I know Inked is a musician as well as having fabulous hair...

I'm a drummer. Played in British type R@B bands in college. Started playing again after losing the use of part of my left hand. That's me done. Any other musicians out there?

Sorry I haven't been around lately.  The only work I have is about 100 miles from my house, so not only have I been working long hours, but I've been spending 4 hours a day driving.  Looks like at least a couple more weeks of it too.

Anyway, great thread idea.  Recently my guitar player and I have been playing with a new drummer.  We still play with the other guy too, so we have been playing at least 2 nights a week.  We had a great rehearsal with the new guy last night.  He has been boning up on our material and he just about has it.  Soon we will break the news to the old drummer.  Someone shot some video of us performing "Would" by Alice in Chains last night.  I'm pretty sure it will wind up on YouTube.  If it does, I'll post a link.

Me too.  Mike Starr, the original bass player who wrote those bass lines, died of an apparent drug overdose about a month ago.  Shame.

My band does a pile of Alice in Chains.  Anyway, if it winds up on YT, I'll definitely post a link.  :)
