Title: True to The Purpose of The Constitution
Post by: wizard on August 01, 2013, 10:05:25 PM
Robert D. Ashford writes, in True to The Purpose of The Constitution (http://newsblaze.com/story/20130730051636thom.nb/topstory.html)

QuoteIf we, the down to earth Americans, would only read the constitution and answer for ourselves the questions that plague this nation and analyze the problems of our nation, it would not take long before the United States would make a necessary correction to turn this country around

He also says:

QuoteThe political indulgence of spending, taxing, and re-spending and re-taxing would come to an abrupt end.

Is he right, or is he being overoptimistic, and America is screwed?

Man, is he right on target!

What a great opening post for this forum!

My hope is to get people asking those questions on this forum, and answering them by a number of varied thread topics.

I don't click the links, sorry but after some have tried to post malicious code here via links I just don't.

However that said, from the quotes you post, yes he is right.

The Constitution exists to place limits upon the Federal Government, in an attempt at ensuring and preserving the people ultimately, as the source of political authority in this nation.

Thanks for pointing that out.  I will be looking forward to wizard's further comment in this forum, curious to see what he thinks of the threads I've started here.

As an aside, while I'm not so sure my own posts are "beyond reproach", I am in fact  far more certain the links I provide have no sort of malicious code.

Sorry, couldn't resist.

I know it was wrong.  Wrong = bad, not wrong = incorrect.

I tried to step off already, it was too difficult.

But I shall try anew.

He's still just trying to "whistle through the graveyard".

Nothing wrong with that. And he chose to be in the graveyard himself.
