Title: Hypothetical scenario
Post by: Eyesabide on February 03, 2012, 07:12:34 PM

Social breakdown has started we are in the "late looting phase", and wherever you now live, your family or social group is with you inside your abode. It is night, and your roof is engulfed in fire. The first person out of the home structure gets shot and crippled one hundred feet from the door or window they went out of.
What do you do?

Luckily I can honestly say this wouldn't happen in my area, but assuming it did, I'd call the neighbor on the mountain top with his night vision and give me the location of the perps.
My brother also lives close by and he is really well armed, so we could easily flank anyone that tried something like this.

Disposal of the trash would also be a breeze, we have bonfires all the time.... ( ;

They don't want us to, so they use the EPA to restrict certain burn days, but there is an old law still on the books that makes it perfectly legal to have a fire year round.
Its called cooking and no one can stop you from feeding yourself and your family.
As long as you are cooking at the fire, they can't stop you.

Besides, I have the number to the lookout station, I just call them and tell them to ignore T12 R11 S32, that's my coordinates, I'm a cookin...

You go out thru your escape tunnel that you built for a complete take over.... The you go to your secondary safe zone that you thought of and built after you and yours got settled in.

If your structure is being fired up,,,I would think your claymores have a serious malfunction. YOur perimeter is breached if that is all you have.....

Why should they malfunction? They would be dual primed electric/non-electric and daisy-chained. Claymores are an excellent method of securing a perimeter from massed attacks and will surely scare away that shooter who nailed the hypothetical first person out of the door.

As a side thought- could you imagine the results if we had claymores at the battle of the Alamo?

Yes they are a nice thing to have around... but I dont think it would be a good idea to have them just for  a scare tactic......Bless your heart, there are other things one can use for that.......

If you let the bad guys get close enough, claymores lose their "scare" value and become absolutely deadly. After that, bad guys will stay back and learn some more "scare".
Did I ever mention that I love claymores? They are as cool as remotely launched LAW rockets.

It is night, and your roof is engulfed in fire. The first person out of the home structure gets shot and crippled one hundred feet from the door or window they went out of.
What do you do?

1. If possible fight the fire on the roof from the inside, or at least do something to slow it down to give you more time.

2. Assess the situation - how many hostiles and what are their locations? How much fire power can you bring to bear on them?

3. What is their objective? Do they want something you have? Can you negotiate? (I'm assuming that since they didn't finish of the crippled person, they are not simply out to kill for killing sake alone).

4. If all else fails, everyone goes out at once (full auto if you have it) and blasts anything that moves or shows a muzzle flash! Not everyone will make it, but it is better than letting the burning roof collapse on you.

5. If successful, take no prisoners - pay back is a bitch!
