Partially schooled in improvised weapons 'n munitions via army training in the 1960s 'n while in Vietnam, the Republic of, I tinkered w/variety of lethal delivery devices on my rural property some distance from urban centers but never to extent or intent to victimize innocents. I once built a Gatling gun which fired shotgun shells, a massive crossbow utilizing oak timber 'n leaf spring from junk auto, 'n variety of phugas flame throwers 'n trip flares, star-burst incendiary devices, zip guns from various seamless steel pipes, 100s of pounds of homemade black-powder, mercury-based primary explosive detonators 'n initiating switches, & an assortment of Viet Cong booby traps. How I managed not blowing myself up 'n survive thru those years following my return from that most unpopular war, cope w/effects of PTSD 'n ridicule for having served where America military kicked Charlie's happy little butts from one end of Nam to the other 'n won most every major engagement we were in 'n still be told we lost that war confounds me even today. Of course, being born three-months premature may have had something to do believing I was a "survivor" but which caused me to also be a risk junkie in experiencing life threatening danger well into my 50s. Call me lucky if you wish but I've been damn good at keeping myself alive..!!
