Guy at work just got a Ruger LCP, and a friction type pocket holster - to the range to try it out...
So... I got to talking to the wifey about something similar, she hates the heavy slide on the 40 cal Kimber Ultra Carry...
Kimber has come out with a "Micro" 380 that reportedly has a very easy slide, nice grips (likes the rubber grips)

Anyone own one, any honest review? I've heard the recoil is light, and it's easy to handle, from youtube videos.
kj4adn, I also have trouble with many slides. That was a big factor when I recently bought a handgun. But my new Glock 19 is very easy for me to operate. It sure isn't as pretty as that little Kimber Micro 380, but it was probably cheaper. :biggrin:

We stopped at a sporting goods store on the way home this morning, the salesman handed over a Ruger, Glock and 2 others, ALL were a little too much effort to slide. Salesman started to say, "second shot... blah, blah..." - I said, "She doesn't want to carry with a round in the chamber." .... end of conversation, right about there.
She's really a good shot with a rifle or handgun, better than I ...

Finally he handed the 12 gauge to her, but quickly grabbed it back after she powdered 4 fast ones, with so little effort.
yup, he was embarassed & pissed, 'cause she was outshooting him with his own gun!I have no problem getting her something she likes to shoot, and can handle quickly & easily, she handles guns better than most guys I know.

The owner of our local Gun Club said that women are almost always better marksmen than men. He said that women are more prone to tend to the details.....like aim. :biggrin:

When my buddy saw my 8 mo pregnant wife dropping shot after shot into the 10 ring & 600 yards, during a HP match, "Don't ever piss off your wife, at that distance, you'd be on the ground before you hear the shot!" :ohmy:
She's worth getting something she enjoys ... although the last time her and my 3 older girls were plinking in the back yard, all I heard was squeals of laughter, giggling - I was afraid to check and see what was so funny! ... just in case the subject was -me-

My wife also had trouble racking the first round. I taught her to push the gun with one hand and pull the slide with the other. She was in the habit of using the one hand to hold the gun steady and only rack with one hand. just a suggestion you might try.

I learned by holding my arms straight and locking my elbows. It works great!
