Well now you can test it. Pick an obscure word that someone you know uses all the time and it bugs the Hell out of you, because you're certain it's not in the English language, at least not in the last 100 years.
For example, take the idiocy of irregardless, or hellacious, or another I've hated since the 60s, Groovy.
Yep you can actually see how far back in print they had been used, to think, groovy actually was at it's peak in the 70s, but not here in Ca, we were already sick of it by that point.
Oh, and what really sucks, spell check didn't catch irregardless. :blink:
So give it a try, if nothing else, we can use it against libs that try and reinvent the English language. :rolleyes:
