Title: Cell phones
Post by: MAC Man on March 08, 2012, 06:27:34 AM
Can any cell phone be encrypted, or just certain ones?

When using an encrypted cell phone, does the phone of the person your speaking to also have to be encrypted?

Thanks!!

For maintaining privacy in conversations between family members and friends.

I have had a cell phone now for 10 years.   The most I use it is about 4 min a month ave.    About every year they call me to see if I would like to bump my phone up.  I ask what for and they say to save roaming charges.  lol    I have 400 min and use an ave of 4 min a month, right I am going to save roaming charges.  lol

Aren't they pretty cumbersome and very costly? Any specifics you'd care to share?

I can honestly say, I have in the last 15 years, used my cell phone a total of 30 minutes.
When I first got a bag phone I used it about 10 to 20 minutes a month ,then they went digital and I was forced to give up my old analog 6 watt bag phone.
Problem was, there are no cell towers close enough for digital technology at the time, so I got completely out of the habit using one.
Now I just hate the damn things, I'd get rid of my home phone if I thought I could get away with it.
