Excellent point! All new products cost someone, and in this case, walmart is footing the bill and as you point out, the customer has to make up for the loss.
They'll need new floor space, so what product will the consumer lose in its place?

Quote from: Rick on Today at 09:52:43 AMYour saying, free to use credit/debit. Fee to use cash?
Yep. They have generally charged a fee at the pump if you used your card, or you could go inside and pay cash for the advertised price.
I paid as much as a 50 cent transaction fee just to fill up because I was out of cash. Other places charged as much as 3% of the actual sale.
Legal? Well it is Ca and oil is a funny monster in Ca.

I expect to see this fee reverse to a cash charge in the future once they plan on rolling out the CBDC (Central Bank Digital Currency).
That would be the end of cash, but my claim is, that this charge for cash would be the siren call of the doom ahead.
I am relatively confident the Fed won't win, but I still see them pulling this cash charge nonsense.

I think Sam will get the last laugh in this one, because this is going to backfire bigger than they ever imagined.

I already told Toy, no more Walmart, ever again! And I mean it!

I'm sure many of you are familiar with the extra charge many gas stations charge you a small fee to use your debit/credit card when purchasing gas, or you can go inside and pay with cash, right?

What if that trend flips?
Let's say the bank wants to charge the business for bringing in cash deposits, Vs all digital transactions?
Of course the business owner would be forced to pass that transaction on to you, the customer.

Granted, we aren't there yet, but I see the Fed pulling this shit in the future.
Keep your eyes on this one!

No, no one has mentioned it at all, I'm just floating a balloon that I've no doubt the banks are considering, and it only takes a second for it all to flip.

Thoughts?

Did they learn nothing from the Target Debacle, Bud Light? Fuck Walmart!

Retail giant Walmart is promoting its new LGBTQ-themed apparel on social media ahead of "Pride Month," which starts on Saturday.

In a post on Instagram, the company wrote:

"Not just a slogan. #PrideAlways is a reminder to lead with love."

The company's promotion comes just weeks after Target said its Pride collection would only be available in "select stores."

Target has moved to scale back its leftist ideology messaging following a major backlash from conservatives last year.

In recent years, Target has had June Pride Month displays with rainbow and LGBTQ+ messaging.

However, the addition of products such as female-style swimsuits that can be used to "tuck" male genitalia outraged many consumers last year.

The backlash was so severe that an insider told Fox News Digital at the time that some stores were told to relocate their Pride month displays to avoid sparking a "Bud Light situation."
