Has to be. Back in the day when the three on a tree was common, we would install a shift on the floor. Knock out the pin holding the column shifter but the knob would still be sticking out. Gears on the floor would be backwards. Hell we had an extra pedal on the floor I bet kids today have no idea what it was for.
