Title: Who should vote?
Post by: walkstall on January 27, 2021, 11:38:21 AM
I am starting to think only federal taxpayers should be able to vote for the congress and the president.  That would stop all this voting for free stuff.

I know who should NOT vote. Illegal immigrants, felons and people under 18. All things that Dims want btw. :sneaky:

I would have minimum age requirements (not 18, more like 30), as well as a basic civic requirements.

Wow, almost sounds like taxation WITH representation.   Dems will never go for that.

I agree.  You should not only have to prove you are a taxpayer and citizen, but also prove you are who you claim to be.  Photo ID presented upon voting should be mandatory.

There should be a test. Each vote would count in proportion to the score on the test.
The test would be a simple, objective, multiple choice, closed book test.

Here are the questions:

1 - Who is the current President?
2 - Who is the current Vice President?
3 and 4 - Who are currently your state's two Senators?
5 - Who is currently your U.S. Representative?
6 - Who is currently your state's Governor?
7 - Who is currently your state's Lieutenant Governor?
8 - Who is currently your State Senator?
9 - Who is currently your State Representative?
10 - Who is currently your county Sheriff?

(In Nebraska, 8 and 9 would be combined into one question, worth two points.)

It's a great idea, so we know it will never happen.

It would be entertaining to watch the Dems call the idea "racist"
because they would be calling Blacks "stupid."

If l had my way we'd have mandandory conscription which commences immediately upon graduation from high school. You'd get a choice either two years in the military or four years in a CCC like organization working on the nations infrastruce. Once your minimum period of service was fullfilled you'd be issued a voter ID card which woukd be required to vote in any election. Of course you'd have the choice of not serving but then you'd never have a voice in any election.
I have a better plan concerning taxes but that involves flat taxes and everyone earmarking the dollars they paid in directly and taking the book of blank checks away from that bunch of crooked asshole politicans paying to keep their asses in their seats with my money. If you paid in ten dollars then you'd get say so over ten dollars but if you pay in ten thousand then you get to dictate where and how ten thousand is spent. Before you tell me that could never work you first have to tell us what's so great and wonderful with our current mess. And by the way business would pay no taxes and they'd be barred from political contributions or any form of lobbying government in any way. No pay = no say. Besides we pay all the taxes either directly or indirectly anyway so we may as well see what it is.

and only in person.  Voting is such an important thing that you do not do it from the comfort of your home or jail house cell.....you do it IN PERSON.

I have already, repeatedly spoke out about who has the right to take part in the elections of their government at all levels, except of student public organizations in universities and colleges.

1) A person who meets all the requirements to be a voter is called a "Qualified" voter and has every right to one vote;

a) Only a citizen of the country has the right to vote;

b) A citizen of the country who has the right to elect his government must be at least 27 years of age;

c) A citizen of the country who has the right to elect his government must have a high school diploma;

e) A citizen of a country who has the right to elect his government must be a taxpayer for at least 5 years before the elections in which he has the right to participate;

f) A citizen of a country who has the right to elect his government must own "immovable property";

g) A citizen of the country who has the right to elect his government must be married or with a husband and have at least 2 children;

h) A citizen of the country who has the right to elect his government must be no older than 75 years of age;

2) A citizen of a country eligible to be elected to an elective office must be at least 35 years of age and meet all of the above criteria for a "Qualified" voter.

I generally agree with most of what you said. One or two I have a problem with.

Does that mean that if someone does not own property, they can't vote? Many people rent. If anything, people who receive free housing and associated benefits should not be allowed to vote.

What if one never wants to marry? They are not allowed to vote?

I am curious about the age 27. What is the rational of that specific age (and not higher or slightly lower)?

Add an age limit on being an elected official, as well as term limits. Plus, no running for any other office while being in a current office position.

AMEN! The fraud we witnesses was done by switching votes AND fraudulent mail in ballots.

And in general, it's high time to make the voting OPEN! Who are we to fear in our country! Freedom of expression is guarded by 1 Amendment to the US Constitution and those who try to violate it should be punished seriously and permanently.
