Based on what he has done, YES. He beat the unions and all their money and influence on the recall. Since then he has managed a surplus of $1B and cut taxes. It is hard to argue with success.
Once he hits front runner status, however, the left will do it's best to assasinate his character with truth, lies or insinuations. ONe thing you can count on is the leftists in the press attacking the very humanity of any public figure who dares to hold an opinion different from their own.
The press in this nation is a cancer. And their malignancy has spread to every part of our society. Unless something is done too, I fear for the well being of the patient.

That is to be expected regardless of who the candidate is. With someone like Walker they will be against him from the get go. We won't have to endure the fake adulation McCain and Romney got until they were the actual candidate. Our responsibility to fire back.
What amazes me is that the one candidate I believe to be the exemplary true conservative who also has the grit and backbone to fight his opponent seems to get next to no support from anyone in this forum. I just do not understand why this is the case. I speak of RICK PERRY. What does the conservatives ...let alone the GOP have against this man?

Three reasons:
1) DISASTROUSLY BAD 2012 campaign because of pitiful debate performance.
2) Texas governor with folksy attitude. People are superficial and go too much off of appearance, and Perry reminds a lot of people of Dubya.
3) I can't remember the 3rd one. Oops.

I honestly think that, had Romney wanted to have a chance of winning Wisconsin, Scott Walker should have been his running mate. Paul Ryan turned out to do absolutely nothing to help the ticket win his home state.
Romney/Ryan lost Wisconsin by 6.94%.... I think Romney/Walker could have cut that in half easily. Romney/Walker with an actual competent campaign that knows how to read basic polls COULD have flipped it narrowly.

Like McConnell, Rick Perry attempts to align with the TEA Party only to gain votes, not because they actually agree with TEA principles. I've lived in Texas all my life and can attest to Perry's use of cronyism when appointing officials around the state. To clarify, in Texas, the role of governor is purposely weak which gives citizens a stronger voice through our state legislature. Perry has had no problem burdening taxpayers with a $10,000/month rental while the gov mansion was being renovated;

In addition, he is traveling across the U.S. inviting people to move to Texas yet this state is suffering from a long time drought with some towns actually

IMO, we should be supporting the person causing a ruckus in D.C., Ted Cruz. We hired him to hold Washington accountable and by gosh, he is! RINO's despise him and with Congress' approval rating at 13%, that should tell us something. They expect freshman congressional members to march step to the status quo and Cruz refuses. Good. FWIW, I used to support Rand Paul but recently found out he endorsed McConnell. RINO anyone?

Glad you found us. Your point about backing up posts with facts and not simply opinion pieces, is what separates us from the rest.
We pride ourselves in the truth, sure, we banter, call all libs Marxists etc, but if it's a serious issue, only the facts are allowed, all others will be ridiculed, even if it's one of our own.
And if it's a Pub not following the TEA line, they too get hosed, as you pointed out about Rand, there is no room for capitulation towards the enemy, (McConnell) and all RINO are the enemy, more so than the Dim party.

I'll miss him.

I had to go with Walker. I have seen what he did for Wisconsin and I hear this year he even has a surplus. Enough so that he is giving a rebate to property owners who are current on their taxes.

Thank you walks. I see some names I recognize. I'm looking forward to talking here and getting to know the newer names and rekindling some old friendships.

I think you'll find this more of an adult board as you look around. Hope you enjoy yourself.
