From watching "much" news these days, I find this question incredibly easy to answer
the greatest evil of our time is Muslim jihad
These people don't care about anything. They don't even value their own lives. OK, so maybe it's a little over the top to say they don't care about anything. But really, what do they care about? In fact, it is very important to examine what they "care about"
They care about their "god"
That god is not one I could ever love. I love the God of 1 John 4, wherein we are told that "God isl ove"
True, i have had moments in my life where this scripture totally did not resonate with me at all. I don't u/stand why, in those moments, I could not... just could not believe that God is love. But you know... those moments are rather few and far between. For the most part, it only makes sense that God would be love, that that would be his primary "attribute"
So this appeals to my sense of logic (etc)
But the jihadists have a God of death and destruction. They do not seem to find any value in living in THIS life, but only live for the next one. The weird thing is that that next life for them will undoubtedly be hellfire... not 72 virgins waiting for them (Women have no such award or anything remotely like it awaiting them in Heaven, apparently)
So... The US is in a very precarious and dangerous situation ignoring all that is going on overseas... and this Admin IS ignoring, for the most part. I will say that Pres O made the right decision in recently givng Israel help with the... can't think of the name of those things, but those defensive mechanisms that are destroying the incoming rockets from Hamas

ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION . It'll completely chabge this country and put us into Turd World status.
well, at least no one here has disagreed w/ me, or if she or he did, didn't want to "go there"
A lot of Americans don't want to "go there" vis a vis the turmoil in the world... but we have NO CHOICE
I know it's just SOOO hard to belive we could be living in a world where there would be absolutely no CHOICE (the god of this world, apparently)
but that's the way things are

As worthwhile and necessary as religious beliefs and instincts may be,
their focus is 'otherworldly' and not on creating heaven on earth.
However our multiple problems are 'this worldly' and immediate.
I argue that an absence of leadership rather than any loss of faith,
has now reached the crisis stage after incubating for some three
decades; and our citizenry are only dimly aware of this.
Gibbon defined the collapse of leadership as the defining reason
for the Fall of Rome. Reflect a moment. One hundred years ago,
this month; Europe commenced the Great War, a transformational
event from which it has yet to recover. The core reason for Europe's
plunge into the abyss was the absence of the likes of Palmerston
and Von Bismarck; replaced by the assorted assholery on display in 1914.
Those who ignore the mistakes of history are condemned to repeat them.

I agree. Unfortunately we are seeing what the world is like when the US does not lead. Can this be reversed? I believe so, but it will take a strong leader after Obama to stand up to the Islamist thugs and Putin in the near term. This will take significant changes in direction from where we are now both domestically and internationally.
Currently our biggest problem is BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA...all the other problems that we are currently experiencing seem to stem from his lack of leadership, lies and failed policies including; illegal immigration, turmoil in Iraq, Iran, Syria, Afghanistan, Israel, N. Korea, Rusia, NSA, IRS, OBAMAcare, VA, and our troubled economy. I do apologize if I forgot anything that he's messed up, but the list is becoming quite lengthy.
I should also mention his attack on Christianity and our second amendment rights.

Hussein isn't the biggest problem. It's the system of Marxists that put him there. He's just a willing participant. We need to flush these people out, like emptying a septic tank.
Ignorance/intolerance...
The greatest problem in our time is Marxism.....in the guise of "progressive" democrats.....
Oh and Marxism and Islam are combatable...see iranian Tuedah Party et al.

Yes, we need to either educate the dependent Left or stop allowing them to vote. Their ignorance and intolerance is destroying the country!
We have so many concerns right now it is difficult to select just one. Therefore, I tend to agree with the general term of ignorance of our citizenry. The fact our country elected Obama twice is proof positive. He told us exactly what his plans were for our country and a majority did not comprehend what he was saying. I can't believe a majority want to live in a socialist/Marxist country. Those folks cannot comprehend what that means.
Most of the problems we have come under the heading of "Apathy".

And the reason for the US's plunge into the abyss is lack of a president like REAGAN
At this point in time, i tend to prefer Ted Cruz for president... still gathering information, however.
meaning: There may be some governor out there more experienced than Cruz, but it would take a lot to get me focused on someone other than Cruz... or Perry

the list seems rather exhaustive.. .can't think of anything to add to it at this time. But even one of them is by itslf is enough to say this president is... well, let's just be polite and say "inexperienced"
