About Amy Coney Barrett Traitorous move?
Amy Coney Barrett just voted in favor of allowing Biden's federal border agents to dismantle razor fencing set up by Texas agents to stop illegals immigrants entering America.
The vote was 5-4. She was the deciding vote. What a nightmare.
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott says, in response to the Supreme Court's ruling, he will continue to defend Texas' constitutional authority to secure the border and prevent the Biden administration from destroying our property.
Since the Biden Administration ignored SCOTUS rulings, (along with the Constitution) I would surmise Abbott might Also.

My thoughts as well! Force the Govt to make the next move and block the at every turn through the court system.
That's how they do it to us, delay, delay until we back down. Make them feel the heat for a change.
I have been digesting the reaction to the SCOTUS ruling that the Biden administration could take down the barriers installed by the State of Texas. Many are disappointed and that is a very understandable position. However, as of country of laws the court got it right in my view.
Our laws places the responsibility of protecting our borders clearly on the federal government. As I see it the law is on the side of the Biden administration. The problem comes from the administration abdicating its responsibility to enforce the law.
I think Abbott will do what he can to slow it down, but I don't see much until Trump is back in office. Roberts and Barrett really put the screws to us.

I think most of us expected Roberts to screw us, but Amy just showed her true colors.
Wait, What, Abbot grew balls?

Although Abbott has not declared for a national run, I can not but think he is looking into it. He is probably more inclined to make this a national issue than Joe, and he should be able to delay action from the government for at least a year, at which time Joe will long gone. There are very few topics Joe wants in the news right now, immigration ain't one of them, which does give Abbott somewhat of a advantage. As far as the '28 run, I do not see one candidate who ran against Trump who bettered their chances for '28. We did not see anyone showcase their strengths, we only saw them expose their weaknesses. 28 is wide open, someone could start now to lay groundwork.
And keep in mind, this is just my own thoughts, not a whole lot goes into them at times. I have seen no reports that he is running or wants to. I just see what is going on at the border with the wire as either desperation for a solution, or politics as usual. I can not see Biden wanting to see this in the news every night. I think Abbott knows this.

Same here, just my thoughts...   After getting Trump wrong in 2016, I find it easier to look on the outside of the box.
Ohhh, oh were referring to 2028. Has anyone even broached that subject yet? Use whole numbers for this tired old brain.
Yeah, the Razer wire and SCOTUS did more to embolden the right as it exposed another Deepstate sellout within our ranks, which begs the question, what does the left have on Barrett?
Nearly 20% of the electorate will be gone by 2028 and replaced with god only knows what.
As for Abbot, he has always been someone known to drag his feet waiting for think tank results to come in before saying anything.
After Trump announces his Veep, then we'll know where the future lies, be it Sarah Huckabee, or Kari lake, even Tucker, each of these people connect to other potential candidates. Hell, even Vivek comes with weird baggage, but I'd count Abbot out of the running over his connection to the old guard GOP war mongers.

Amy also voted to not investigate the fraud in the 2020 election.
No doubt because her father was deeply involved in carrying out the fraud in Wisconsin!

Good memory! I knew there was another issue that exposed her for the Deepstate plant she is.

  First off, I like Abbott, and will vote for him again, for governor. That is not so much a endorsement as the result of one cold hard fact that Texas will never have a conservative win the parties nomination. But you nailed it, he still tests the waters before too many decisions. But, after Bush, it will take an exceptional conservative candidate before I will vote for a fellow Texan again. I was fooled bad on how he would govern. I think Abbott would be better, but I would need proof and there isn't any as of now.

Yeah, he's fine where he is, no one has come forward to challenge him anyway, and from what I can see of the GOP, there isn't that much to choose from. :glare:

 This last bunch running proved that. Nobody showed us what their strengths were. Hopefully the best ones choose not to run against Trump and we will see a different field in 2028.
QuoteThe Texas National Guard and state troopers are still rolling out concertina wire and preventing Border Patrol agents from accessing most of Shelby Park, a 47-acre Eagle Pass park that sits on the bank of the Rio Grande where thousands of migrants have crossed.
Those continued efforts come despite the U.S. Supreme Court earlier this week vacating a lower court's decision that prevented Border Patrol agents from cutting the state's concertina wire to apprehend people who already crossed the river.
The Supreme Court's 5-4 order didn't give any reason and didn't explicitly say Border Patrol agents were allowed to access the park or that the state had to remove the concertina wire. So the state has doubled down and some Republican lawmakers have said Texas should defy the Supreme Court's ruling.
The ruling must not have said anything about laying more wire because it is still being placed.  https://www.texastribune.org/2024/01/24/texas-border-wire-supreme-court/
So far its 25 states backing Texas, and of course Trump. Any one else see a FORT SUMPTER Moment?

I can see it leading to one. Create a crisis, declare national emergency, and cancel the election. The democrats will not win this election, so what have they got to lose?

QuoteIt appears that the State of Texas is interpreting the U.S. Supreme Court's decision in to be very specific and limited in focus.
Air Force Maj. Gen. Thomas Suelzer was appointed by Abbott to oversee the Texas National Guard and Texas State Guard as the agency's adjutant general. He told staff that he believes the ruling only permits Border Patrol to cut through obstacles to retrieve stranded migrants, the source said. Suelzer added that his troops will repair any obstacles destroyed by federal agents, and that his troops won't allow the feds to set up migrant processing centers in areas they've blocked.
This interpretation is a good sign. Governor Abbot and the Texas legislature should make it official and act immediately and Nullify the U.S. Supreme Court's decision.
