We know him by his fruits

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz evoked Scripture Monday when he told Newsmax TV why he is the most conservative Republican running for president.

"You know, Scripture tells us you shall know them by their fruits," Cruz said Monday on "The Hard Line." "It's easy to talk a good game, but the question is have you walked the walk?"

~~~
Cruz pointed to his record of leading the fight against Obamacare in 2013.
"You look at the other very fine men and women on that Republican debate stage; none of them were anywhere to be found," he said.
The same was true in 2014, Cruz said, "when millions of Americans rose up against President Obama's unconstitutional executive amnesty" and when every current candidate called for defunding of Planned Parenthood.
"Once again, I was proud to lead that fight, and once again every single man and woman on that debate stage were nowhere to be found," he said. "It was like they were in witness protection."
~~
Conservatives are backing him in Iowa, where he leads most polls,  New Hampshire, where he is polling in second place, and nationally, because they are tired of empty promises, Cruz told host Ed Berliner.
"I'm reminded of a former boss who used to say, 'If I'm ever accused of being a Christian I'd like for there to be enough evidence to convict me,'" Cruz said. "That's powerfully true, but it's equally true of being a conservative. You say you're going to take on Washington? Show me where you've ever done so before. Where you've ever stood up not just to Democrats, but to leaders in our own party."
The problem is, with most humans and especially politicians, even as much as I respect and have more trust in Cruz than most other candidates, first we must plant that tree (elect him as POTUS), then see if the fruits follow. Much "fruit" has been promised in bygone years by many people seeking office (such as our infamous Obozo the clown) only to end in a fruit void. I assume the best we can do is trust our instincts and judge by past performance, as you say, and hope it pans out in the end. :smile:
One more liberal President in 2016 will mean the irreversible, eventual and total demise of our democracy. The rise and fall of democracy IS past the "apathy stage" at this moment. If this  momentum continues on its present path, restoration of democracy will require the least desired of actions.
Sorry, but you completely missed her/his point.  He is right. He is the ONLY PROVEN CONSERVATIVE. We cant predict whether the rest of Congress will work with or against a president Cruz, but we have to start somewhere. A proven conservative as head of the Executive Branch is a very good thing. Remember, he will likely appoint 3-4 Supreme Court Justices. At a time of 5-4 decisions, we MUST have a proven conservative in that office.
Right, carlb.
Speaking as a Texan I can say unequivocally that Ted Cruz fulfilled every promise he made to us when he was running for the Senate.  UNLIKE Rubio who quickly capitulated.   Ted stuck to his guns and did exactly what he told us he would do.
There is no reason for me to WONDER if he will fulfill his campaign promises.  Of course he will.  He is a man of integrity and honor!  He will be true to his word!
Ted is right when he says we can judge him by his fruits.  Absolutely!!
Obama has shit out fruit in spades, the problem is everything is rotten. But he did deliver what he promised, fundamental change of America, you now have a Healthcare system designed to implode Cloward–Piven style and you can be jailed for making anti islam videos on youtube, like he said the future does not belong to those who slander the prophet.
Well said.  And unfortunately our current president's weakness will cast Cruz into Middle East military-action mode virtually immediately.  But he'll do it and succeed.
Then comes the issue about restoring values.  They've crept out.  They'll creep back in.
Ask Graham about fruits. He's a connoisseur. Ooops.  :blush:
I would guess that Obozo's fruit smells of durian.  :lol:
There are probably some on the forum that are not familiar with durian.
It is a fruit (mostly in Indonesia) which stinks to high heaven!!!
However, for some inexplicable reason the locals LOVE it!
It could be because it has a bit of alcohol and they can get a buzz from it.  And that is the only way muslims can consume alcohol according to sharia!!   :laugh: :laugh: :laugh:
FWIW, when my kids were in college and students were playing harmless pranks, my kids thought about putting durians in the air vents in chapel!!  :laugh:   But they could not find durian.... if they had it would have probably been too expensive for them.
Most American markets will not stock durian because it stinks up the entire store!
When I walk into Asian markets I can immediately tell if they stock durian!
Good thing that didn't happen! The pranks youth think of! :smile:
After leaving my wedding reception in 1977, and a few miles down the freeway, my wife and I began smelling something fishy in my NICE '72 Olds Cutlass Supreme. Seems all my great friends had pranked us by tossing an opened package of bait herring into the glove box. I wasn't all too amused. Don't know if durian would have been worse. :unsure:
