I guess I must be in that "minority" then because I DON'T believe that coming to America illegally should be excused, given asylum, government benefits or granted citizenship! I will NEVER believe that lawlessness should be rewarded.

Which part is illegal?  All asylum seekers "cross the border" (if they didn't, there wouldn't be a basis for apprehending them) where the are then detained for processing and vetting.

Part of the asylum process is crossing the border illegally and being arrested.  That's why the much hyped "child cages" were used.  In order to request asylum, the person HAS to cross the border illegally, be detained and processed.  A CBT agent can't arrest someone if they don't illegally cross the border to initiate the process.  CBT can't, for example, go into Mexico and detain someone.

Have you forgotten that Trump had set up a program with Mexico that kept these people in Mexico until their asylum appeal could be heard?

Then why did biden not allow Cubans to immigrate, they were seeking asylum. Can't have it both ways.

We have a legal way to immigrate to this country, the vast majority of our ancestors  did just that. Anything other than the legal way is illegal. Period.
