US officials have inexplicably welded open 114 massive gates along the Arizona border

"We haven't seen this many migrants since about 2008," said Adam Isacson, director for defense oversight at the advocacy group Washington Office on Latin America. "With the end of Title 42, in a way that nobody oversaw, it seems to come back to Tucson.

"What you're seeing is a lot of large groups who want to turn themselves in," Isacson said. "Tucson has also traditionally been where smugglers concentrate Mexicans and Central Americans who don't want to be detected. Now they're seeing 100 people at a time who are not running away.

"It's really becoming an epicenter," he said. "This is big."

Each of the 114 gates in Arizona, which have been open for nearly two months, has 12-foot doors wide enough for a motorcycle to drive through. Smugglers drive busloads of migrants to the Mexican side of the border, where they get off and simply walk into the US.

Unfortunately, part of the section of wall that Trump had built in AZ was built in a creek bed, so during monsoon season, when those rain water starts flowing, the gates have to be open to avoid more damage.

In 2021, some gates were ripped off.

I knew if we stayed tuned we would get the liberal take on it. STILL NO REASON TO WELD THEM OPEN!

It's a liberal take to say there was severe damage to the gates in the past, so now they're going to weld them open during monsoon season to avoid more damage.

They can't be closed and it's probably very unsafe to leave the unsecured. They weld them open for a few months and then close them after monsoon season.

The gates were included in the creek beds for this reason.

The damage happened in 2021.  They fixed it and are now opening the gates to avoid more damage.

It was still historic flooding, but welding the gates open?

Arizona has monsoons, to varying degrees, every year.  What method of keeping the gates open,to avoid damage during monsoon season, would you approve of?

Ok, now we're changing subjects.... So, the current wall, with the gates, didn't exist before 2021.
They built the wall with gates because it was running through a part of the land where large amounts of rushing water tends to flow during monsoon season.

Just because the gates are open, doesn't mean the people coming through them are allowed to walk into the US without following the normal process.  Your article referenced it as did another NY Post article below.  Laws don't cease to exist because these gates are open.  People seeking asylum still have to turn themselves over to CBP to be processed.

Cartels are exploiting the situation, dropping off migrants by the busload so they can casually walk into the US through the open doors and hand themselves over to border agents, as The Post witnessed firsthand west of remote Lukeville, Ariz., last weekend.

United States Border Patrol (USBP) told the New York Post that the department "makes the final decision on opening gates based on operational conditions and forecasted weather," and CBP later clarified that the gates are opened during monsoon season to prevent the wall from collapsing.

"High water flow combined with excessive sediment and debris buildup can stress or comprise the design integrity of the barrier," the department told The Post. "Once the rain or flood event is over and the debris and sediment are removed, the gates can be closed and secured."

Migrants Stunned as They Flood Open Southern Border: 'It Was So Easy to Get into U.S'

Migrants have been left stunned at the ease at which they have been able to casually make illegal crossings into the United States via the open Southern Border.

In Arizona alone, thousands of migrants are flowing across the US border every single day.

They are making illegal crossings literally through open floodgates.

The open border has made the Tucson Post the busiest point of illegal entry into the country.

According to a report from the New York Post, gates in the barriers at the border have been left open by authorities to allow illegal aliens to easily enter the country, unchallenged.
